VOLspeed for Bosch Smart System

This tuning module for e-bikes with Bosch Smart System offers a wide range of optimisation options. Of course, this includes the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit, whereby the desired maximum speed can even be set individually (up to 45 km/h).

Particularly interesting is the option to set an optional "dynamic mode". This mode results in a much more pleasant driving experience, as the motor support no longer stops so abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached.

All settings can be made conveniently via the control buttons on the e-bike, you don't need a PC or smartphone.

The VOLspeed Tuning Tool is a module that is plugged into the motor invisibly from the outside (the motor cover must be temporarily removed for this). No cables need to be damaged or modified during installation; and the tuning is immediately ready for use. No time-consuming calibration is necessary.

Important note: When the tuning is switched on, the speed displayed is too low from 21 km/h onwards and the distance measured is too short. This means that the mileage after using the VOLspeed tuning does not correspond to the real values and is too small.

If you want to get the best out of the Bosch Smart System and optimise your e-bike in many ways, the VOLspeed module is highly recommended!

Important note: To be on the safe side, the maximum speed limit should be set to 35 km/h at the most. This can almost certainly prevent the anti-tuning software from recognising the tuning (error 504).

VOLspeed for Bosch Smart System - Features at a glance:

-Cancellation of the 25 km/h speed limit.

-The maximum speed is freely adjustable from 25 km/h to 45 km/h. The setting is made conveniently via the plus and minus buttons, whereby the last set value is saved. Tip: VOLspeed recommends that you should not set the maximum speed higher than necessary in order to prevent the Bosch anti-tuning software from hitting. For example, if you do not ride faster than 35 km/h with motor assistance anyway, you should not set a higher value.

-The tuning can be activated / deactivated at any time via the operating buttons on the bike (after switching on the e-bike, the tuning is initially always switched off). Depending on the control unit and display, the buttons for changing the support level must be used, e.g. the + & - buttons (sequence - + - +).

-Dynamic mode can be set: In this optional mode, the motor assistance no longer stops so abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached. The result is a reduced "wall effect" and a much more pleasant riding experience.

-After installation, the module initialises itself and is immediately ready for use. No time-consuming calibration is necessary.

-The VOLspeed module does not need its own battery.

-Individual activation code can be set. It is possible to set an individual code to activate the tuning using the control buttons on the e-bike. This can prevent unauthorised access to the tuning.

-For e-bikes without a display, you can also use the Bosch Flow app to display the settings of the module.

Note: The manufacturer generally advises against Bosch updates. If the Bosch Flow app reports an update, you should not install the update, as the tuning may then be detected by the Bosch anti-tuning software. It could also be that the tuning no longer works after an update. It is therefore strongly recommended to deactivate automatic updates in the Flow app.

VOLspeed for Bosch Smart - Compatibility:

The module is compatible with all Bosch Smart System e-bikes (sometimes referred to as "BES3" or "Bosch Gen4 2022") where the factory-set motor assistance reaches up to 25 km/h.

Compatibility is only guaranteed for the following drive units used on Bosch Smart System e-bikes:

-Bosch Active Line (Plus) Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (up to software version 9.13.0)

-Bosch Performance Line Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (up to software version 9.13.0)

-Bosch Performance Line CX Gen4 from MY2022 Smart System (up to software version 9.13.0)

-Bosch Cargo Line from MY2022 Smart System (up to software version 9.13.0)

Note: Unless otherwise specified, older software versions are also compatible.

-Not compatible with Bosch SX.

Only compatible with the following display types / control units:

-Purion 200 (up to software version 10.12.3)

-LED Remote (up to software version 10.12.3)

-System Controller (up to software version 10.12.3)

-Intuvia 100 (up to software version 1.1.56)

-Kiox 300 (up to software version 13.14.0)

IMPORTANT:

-If you have a Bosch Smart System e-bike with newer software versions (e.g. motor software 12.13.0), please select the VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart System.

-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system!

-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with rim magnet (magnet on the valve): This tuning module is not compatible with e-bikes that do not have a speed sensor. You can recognise these bikes by the fact that they have a large magnet on the valve on the rear rim (‘Bosch Rim Magnet’). The RimBoost is available here.

-The manufacturers expressly advise against Bosch Smart System software updates. It is possible that the tuning is no longer compatible after an update; in the worst case, the Bosch anti-tuning software could even kick in. Do not carry out any updates!

Please note:

E-bikes with the displays Purion, Kiox, Intuvia, Nyon or Smartphone Hub are not part of the Bosch Smart System and are therefore not compatible with the VOLspeed for Bosch Smart System!

If your Bosch e-bike is equipped with one of the displays / control units from the left field, it is not a Bosch Smart System e-bike. In this case, we recommend the VOLspeed for Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4.

Tip: Bosch Smart System e-bikes (BES3) can be easily recognised by the charging cable plug, among other things.

SQUARE plug = Bosch Smart System BES3 (Gen4) + Bosch Gen5:

ROUND plug = Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4:

If your Bosch e-bike charging cable has a square plug (as shown above), you have selected the correct tuning module (provided the bike does not have ABS or a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either connector, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike or an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).
