If you have this sensor on your Giant e-bike, you need the Badass Box 4 for Giant:

Contactless E-Bike Tuning! The popular Badass Box 4 in a version especially for Giant 2020 e-bikes with Yamaha mid-mounted motors. This tuning tool completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit of the drive, so that you can finally use the full potential of your powerful pedelec motor. A big advantage of the Badass Box is that it can be fitted or removed in a flash with just one hand after the initial fitting. In combination with moving the spoke magnet, the tuning can be switched on and off within a few seconds. In addition, the bike can be returned to its original condition at any time. Thanks to a slimmed-down housing and a patented snap lock, this is now even faster than ever before.

Please note: When tuning is activated, an incorrect speed is displayed (also applies to values derived from it). Tip: You can use GPS-based additional devices such as smartphones or bike computers to display the correct speed when tuning is activated.

Badass Box 4 offers some significant improvements compared to the previous versions:

- The box has been slimmed down so that there can no longer be any installation situations that are too tight (the sensor application is now only 3 mm).

- The O-ring of the previous version has been replaced by a patented snap lock, so that the box can be mounted or dismounted faster than ever before.

- Even more robust and insensitive to moisture, as the electronics in the box are sealed with special potting compound from the automotive industry.

- A new AAA battery ensures a much longer range. Batteries of this type are available practically everywhere and provide a very high range. It is recommended to replace the battery once a year at the start of the season. The high range is partly due to the specially developed, patented "FEET" field enhancement technology ("Field Enhancement & Elimination Technology"). You don't even need tools to replace the battery.

- Now additionally with optional fastening security by means of cable ties on the snap lock.

- Double quality control. Every Badass Box is tested for correct functionality before and after encapsulation.

- Made in Germany.

How it works

The Badass Box is attached to the speed sensor of the e-bike and then sends a modified signal to the motor, which leads to the speed limit being lifted. This happens contactless and without direct intervention in the motor electronics (or motor software), so that damage to the motor is excluded.

Mounting

A time-consuming opening of the engine is not necessary. The Badass Box 4 for Giant 2020 is mounted on the chain stay by means of cable ties (included in the delivery) and the speed sensor of the e-bike is unscrewed and placed on the box.

Proceed as follows:

-You will find the integrated Giant sensor in the area of the dropout of your Giant 2020 e-bike. To access the sensor, remove the rear wheel. Now you need to locate the position of the integrated sensor and loosen the screws that secure the sensor.

-Now you have to place the sensor in the recess provided on the Badass Box.

-Use the cable ties (included in the delivery) to mount the Badass Box together with the sensor on the chain stay.

-During initial assembly, you must replace the original magnet with the supplied spoke magnet (the supplied spoke magnet works exactly like the original magnet - however, the replacement is necessary for the field amplification technology to work).

-Now reassemble the rear wheel and screw the supplied spoke magnet onto a spoke so that the magnet points towards the Badass Box. You need to align the spoke magnet next to the Badass Box. To check the position of the magnet on the standing e-bike, lift the rear of the e-bike, turn the rear wheel (not the cranks!) and let it run. You must pay attention to the speedometer or the app of your e-bike: The speed should be displayed evenly and slowly decrease as the rear wheel slows down.

If the spoke magnet touches the box, you only have to place the magnet as close as possible to the box and turn it 90° - that's all!
