Badass Box 4 for Giant motors

A proven and practical tuning tool, this time in a version especially for Giant e-bikes with Yamaha mid-motors (the tool is only compatible with e-bikes with the sensor shown above left). The Badass Box 4 completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit so that you can finally use the full power of your Giant drive. After initial installation, the tuning can be switched on or off at any time by plugging and unplugging the Badass Box and moving the supplied spoke magnet.

Please note that when tuning is switched on, an incorrect speed is displayed (also applies to values derived from this). Tip: You can use GPS-based additional devices such as smartphones or cycle computers to display the correct speed when tuning is active.

Attention: If you have a different sensor (the crossed-out one at the top right), you need the Badass Box Giant 2020!

The Badass Box 4 has some significant improvements compared to the previous models:

-The box has been slimmed down so that there can no longer be any installation situations that are too tight (the sensor application is now only 3 mm).

-The O-ring of the predecessor model has been replaced by a patented snap lock, so that the box can be plugged or unplugged faster than ever before.

- Even more robust and insensitive to moisture, as the electronics in the box are sealed with special potting compound from the automotive industry.

- New AAA battery ensures a much longer range. Batteries of this type are available practically everywhere and only need to be replaced after more than 7,000 km or 1 year. This is also due to the specially developed, patented "FEET" field enhancement technology ("Field Enhancement & Elimination Technology").

- Now additionally with optional fastening security by means of a cable tie on the snap lock.

- Double quality control. Every Badass Box is tested for correct functionality before and after casting.

- The Badass Box 4 for Giant is 100% Made in Germany (developed and manufactured in Germany).

How it works

The Badass Box is placed on the speed sensor of the e-bike and then sends a modified signal to the motor, which leads to the speed limit being lifted. This happens contactless and without direct intervention in the motor electronics, so that damage to the motor is excluded.

Badass Box 4 for Giant - Installation & Activation

The initial installation of the Badass Box 4 is simple; there is no need to open the engine.

In principle, the Badass Box 4 for Giant simply needs to be fitted over the speed sensor next to the rear wheel. As soon as the snap lock engages, the box is securely attached to the sensor. If you wish, you can also secure the Badass Box with cable ties.

Please note that you have to replace the original magnet with the supplied spoke magnet when mounting the Badass Box for the first time. This spoke magnet works in the same way as the original magnet, even without the Badass Box attached. However, when the box is attached, the spoke magnet is needed for the patented field amplification technology to function.

After the Badass Box has been attached to the speed sensor, the spoke magnet must be moved towards the edge of the housing in the direction of the snap lock. If the spoke magnet should touch the Badass Box, one has to place the spoke magnet as close as possible to the Badass Box and turn it by 90° - this tunes the e-bike and removes the speed limit.

To end the tuning, simply remove the Badass Box 4 and move the spoke magnet back to its original position. Now the e-bike has its original driving characteristics back and the motor support ends at 25 km/h again. The current speed is also displayed correctly again.
