This practical tuning module impresses with numerous optimization options and is considered extremely reliable. Compared to the previous model, the new VOLspeed V2 is also compatible with the new Bosch Smart System software updates from spring 2024:

Compatible with Bosch Smart System software up to 11.13.0 / 12.13.0 & LED Remote / Purion 200 / System Controller software version 12.10.0. Nevertheless, please do not carry out any further software updates to the drive system. This may impair the function of the tuning.

Also important: The VOLspeed for Bosch Smart System is one of the tuning solutions that generate the fewest errors on the new Bosch Smart System. We therefore give it a special purchase recommendation!

Brand new: Now with optimised connectors! Until now, the connectors of the VOLspeed modules for Bosch Smart were produced using an additive manufacturing process. To improve stability and strength, injection-moulded parts are now used; and the front part of the sockets is now made of metal. All this while maintaining the same small dimensions.

The core function of the tuning module is to remove the 25 km/h speed limit so that you can ride much faster with motor assistance. There is even the option to set the maximum assisted speed to a desired value (up to 45 km/h). The default value is 32 km/h.

Please note: VOLspeed recommends setting a speed limit of maximum 35 km/h to prevent the manipulation detection from being triggered (error 504). A higher limit does not necessarily lead to an error, but the probability is significantly increased.

A special feature of the VOLspeed tuning modules is the so-called “dynamic mode”. In this mode, which can be set as an option, the motor support no longer stops so abruptly when the maximum speed is reached, making riding much more relaxed.

All settings are made conveniently using the control buttons on the e-bike, so you don't need a PC or smartphone.

The VOLspeed V2 is a module that must be connected to the e-bike motor. For installation, the motor cover must be temporarily removed. After installation, the module is not visible from the outside. No cables need to be damaged or modified. Once plugged in, the module is immediately ready for use and you do not need to carry out any complex calibration. The module's electronics are securely encapsulated in the housing and therefore well protected against moisture.

Please note that the installation process may differ slightly for other e-bike models.

Important note: When tuning is activated, the speed shown on the e-bike display is too low from approx. 21 km/h onwards; the distance measured is also too short. This means that the mileage after using the VOLspeed tuning no longer corresponds to the real values and is lower.

VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart System (BES3) - Features at a glance:

-Unlocking: 25 km/h speed limit is removed.

-The maximum speed can be freely adjusted from 25 km/h to 45 km/h. The setting is made using the plus and minus buttons, whereby the last set value is saved. Please note that the maximum speed should not be set higher than 35 km/h, as otherwise the Bosch anti-tuning software could kick in.

-The tuning can be switched on and off at any time using the control buttons on the e-bike (after switching on the e-bike, the tuning is initially always off). Depending on the control unit and display, you must use the buttons to change the assistance level, e.g. the + & - buttons (sequence - + - +). After switching on, the set speed limit is displayed for 5 seconds.

-Dynamic mode can be set: In this optional mode, the motor assistance no longer stops so abruptly when the set max speed is reached. This leads to a reduced “wall effect” and therefore to a more pleasant ride.

-Automatic initialization: After installation, the module is immediately ready for use; no time-consuming calibration is required.

-The VOLspeed V2 module does not require its own battery.

-Individual activation code. You can set an individual code with which the tuning can be activated using the control buttons on the e-bike.

-For e-bikes without a display, you can also use the Bosch Flow app to display the module settings. But please do not perform software updates with the app!

Note: The manufacturer VOLspeed generally advises against Bosch updates. If the Bosch Flow app reports an update, you should not install the update, as the tuning module could then be detected by the tamper detection system. It is also possible that the tuning will no longer work after an update. Automatic updates should always be disabled in the Flow app.

VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart - Compatibility:

The VOLspeed V2 tuning module is only compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bike drives (sometimes also referred to as “BES3” or “Bosch Gen4 2022”), which have a factory-set motor support of up to 25 km/h.

Important: Compatible with Bosch Smart System motor software 11.13.0 / 12.13.0 and LED-Remote / Purion 200 & System Controller software version 12.10.0. Nevertheless, please do not carry out any further software updates. This may impair the function of the tuning!

Compatibility is only guaranteed with the following drive units used on Bosch Smart System E-Bikes:

-Bosch Active Line (Plus) Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (until software version 11.13.0 / 12.13.0)

-Bosch Performance Line Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (until software version 11.13.0 / 12.13.0)

-Bosch Performance Line CX Gen4 from MY2022 Smart System (until software version 11.13.0 / 12.13.0)

-Bosch Cargo Line from MY2022 Smart System (until software version 11.13.0 / 12.13.0)

-Bosch Performance Line CX Race Smart System

Note: Unless otherwise specified, older software versions are also compatible.

Only compatible with the following display types / control units:

IMPORTANT:

-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system!

-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with rim magnet (magnet on the valve). You can recognize these bikes by the fact that they have a large magnet on the valve on the rear rim (= rim magnet).

-The manufacturers expressly advise against Bosch Smart System software updates. It is possible that the tuning is no longer compatible after an update; in the worst case, the Bosch anti-tuning software could even kick in.

If your Bosch e-bike is equipped with one of the displays / control units from the left field, it is not a Bosch Smart System e-bike. In this case, we recommend the VOLspeed for Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4.
