Mountain Tuning Module Plugin for Bosch Smart System (BES3) / Plugin
This MTT SmartSP is a practical tuning module for removing the 25 km/h speed limit of e-bikes with Bosch Smart System drive. Unlike the MTT Sensor ("MTT SmartSB"), the MTT SmartSP is a convenient plug-in solution that is very compact and particularly easy to install. The module is tiny and, unlike some other modules, fits into even the smallest engine compartment. Once connected, the MTT Plugin enables riding with full motor support, even at speeds significantly above 25 km/h.
The MTT does not need its own battery; power is supplied via the bike. When tuning is activated, the display will no longer show any real values above a speed of 25 km/h. Tip: We recommend the use of GPS-enabled additional devices such as your smartphone if you want to have the correct speed displayed on the road. Suitable mounts for the handlebars are available in our shop.
This tuning tool is made in Germany.
Three different operating modes
You can switch MTT Tuning on and off as desired. There are three different operating modes to choose from. The required operating mode is set when the e-bike is started up by certain wheel movements that move the spoke magnet along the sensor.
-Tuning permanently activated (factory setting): Speed limit is cancelled, the real speed is only displayed up to 25 km/h.
-Tuning permanently deactivated: The e-bike functions as in it's original state (motor support up to 25 km/h, correct speed display).
-Tuning according to switch-on condition: Here you can decide spontaneously when switching on the bike whether the tuning plug-in should be activated or not. To activate the tuning, the magnet must be at least 4 seconds in front of the sensor when the bike is started up. If this is not the case, the tuning remains deactivated.
You even have the possibility to individually adjust the maximum supported speed by means of certain wheel movements.
Note: When delivered, the MTT is always in the mode "Tuning permanently activated", with the highest supported speed limit.
Functionality
After installation, the MTT (when tuning is active) will analyse and process the current speed profile and pass on manipulated values. This outsmarts and eliminates the preset 25 km/h speed limit, so that you can ride much faster with full motor support.
Please note:
Since the MTT plugin locks off speeds above 25 km/h for the engine firmware when tuning is active, the displayed speed always remains ≤ 25 km/h. This means that only up to 25 km/h the real speed is displayed.
Therefore, the total kilometre display of the system will also no longer correspond to the real distance travelled.
Installation
For installation, the MTT Tuning Plugin must be installed in the engine compartment.
To gain access to the plug-in connections, the plastic cover of the engine (and sometimes also a crank) must be removed briefly.
MTT for Bosch Smart System - Compatibility
This tuning module is compatible with e-bikes with the "Bosch Smart System" drive system, sometimes referred to as "Bosch Gen4 2022" or "BES3" ("Bosch Development Stage 3"). This drive system uses mid-mounted motors.
Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system!
Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve (rim magnet). These sensors are installed deep in the motor and cannot be optimised by modules.
Tip: Bosch Smart System e-bikes (BES3) can be easily recognised by the charging cable plug, among other things.
SQUARE plug = Bosch Smart System BES3 (Gen4) + Bosch Gen5:

If your Bosch e-bike charging cable has a square plug (as shown above), you have selected the correct tuning module (provided the bike does not have ABS or a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either connector, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike or an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).

Shipping costs
The shipping costs for Germany are 3,50 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 180 Euro. For countries within the EU the shipping costs are 9,90 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 300 Euro. We ask you to cover the cost of any return shipment yourself. Please note that customs fees may apply in third countries outside the European Union.
Minimum order value
The minimum order value is 25 Euro. Only from this amount you can use prepayment or PayPal and bank transfer as payment methods.
Maximum order value
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is 1.000 Euro. The maximum order value within the EU is 12.500 Euro.
Payment in advance bank transfer
Please transfer the total amount with your order number to our account which you received in the confirmation email. Please note that bank transfers within Germany can take up to three working days. Transfers from abroad, especially from Austria and Switzerland, usually arrive very quickly. From other countries, transfers can take a little longer on average.
Payment in advance Paypal
At the end of the order process you will be redirected to the page of Paypal. There you can initiate your payment. As soon as the Paypal transaction is completed, the status of your order will change in the store. The goods will then be shipped as soon as possible.

Important: Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads. Legally permissible use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions.
