SpeedBox 3.1 for Bafang M300, M400 & M420 (4-pin plug)
This tuning module completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit from Bafang Max Drive M300, M400 and M420 e-bike motors with a 4-pin plug connection.
There is even the option to set the level of maximum motor assistance to a desired value. This allows the tuning to be optimally adapted to personal requirements. The module is conveniently controlled via the control buttons of the e-bike; you don't need a smartphone or PC.
Another advantage of the SpeedBox 3.1 is that the e-bike display continues to show correct data.
Advantages of the SpeedBox 3.1 at a glance
-Removal of the 25 km/h speed limit.
-Maximum speed is individually adjustable: You can set the maximum supported speed by switching the mode down three levels and then up three levels again. After that, the current speed limit is displayed. You can now set the maximum speed by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or turning the rear wheel 360°. The last speed limit displayed is then saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.
-Correct values in the e-bike display: Even when the tuning is switched on, the e-bike display shows correct values (speed, maximum and average speed, range, daily distance, etc.).
-Tuning can be switched on and off: The SpeedBox 3.1 can be conveniently activated / deactivated using the control buttons at the e-bike display. To switch on tuning, either press the LIGHT button or + - + -. The display then briefly shows 99 km/h - this signals that the tuning module has been switched on and the speed limit has been lifted. Pressing the LIGHT button again deactivates the tuning. A short display of 25 km/h then indicates that the tuning module has been switched off and the maximum supported speed ends at 25 km/h again. The e-bike then functions as if no tuning chip had been installed.
-The SpeedBox 3.1 chip does not require its own battery.
Installation
The SpeedBox 3.1 is a chip or a module to be attached to the connectors at the motor. Thanks to the marked connectors, installation is simple and can be done by yourself. When connecting the module, follow the illustration "Installation Instructions SpeedBox 3.1 for Bafang" (see below).
You can remove the SpeedBox module at any time if you want to restore the original condition of your Bafang e-bike.
Important notes:
-If you install the SpeedBox 3.1 in a brand new Bafang e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before activating the tuning for the first time.
-If you want to update the software of your Bafang e-bike, you must first uninstall the SpeedBox 3.1 from the e-bike. Update the software and then reinstall the SpeedBox.
SpeedBox 3.1 for Bafang (4-pin plug) - Compatibility
This tuning tool is compatible with the following e-bike drives (with 4-pole pins on the speed sensor):
-Bafang Max Drive M300
-Bafang Max Drive M400
-Bafang Max Drive M420
4 pins on the speed sensor connector. To check if the number of pins is correct, you need to remove the motor cover and look at the speed sensor connector.
IMPORTANT: The SpeedBox 3.1 for Bafang is compatible with motors using the CAN protocol, but NOT with motors using the UART protocol. The CAN or UART protocol can be distinguished by the shape of the connectors.
The first step is to disconnect the display connector of your e-bike. The shape of the connector will tell you whether your e-bike uses UART or CAN communication.

Shipping costs
The shipping costs for Germany are 3,50 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 180 Euro. For countries within the EU the shipping costs are 9,90 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 300 Euro. We ask you to cover the cost of any return shipment yourself. Please note that customs fees may apply in third countries outside the European Union.
Minimum order value
The minimum order value is 25 Euro. Only from this amount you can use prepayment or PayPal and bank transfer as payment methods.
Maximum order value
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is 1.000 Euro. The maximum order value within the EU is 12.500 Euro.
Payment in advance bank transfer
Please transfer the total amount with your order number to our account which you received in the confirmation email. Please note that bank transfers within Germany can take up to three working days. Transfers from abroad, especially from Austria and Switzerland, usually arrive very quickly. From other countries, transfers can take a little longer on average.
Payment in advance Paypal
At the end of the order process you will be redirected to the page of Paypal. There you can initiate your payment. As soon as the Paypal transaction is completed, the status of your order will change in the store. The goods will then be shipped as soon as possible.
