SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Yamaha PW-X3, PW-S2

This is a third generation tuning module that allows you to remove the speed limit of your Yamaha PW-X3 e-bike motor. You even have the option of setting the maximum supported speed to an individual value.

Unlike the "normal" SpeedBox 3.1, this "B.Tuning" version is also compatible with the practical SpeedBox app. This means you benefit from numerous practical additional options and the range of functions is considerably extended. For example, you can monitor & save ride data, activate the engine lock etc. See below for more details.

However, the SpeedBox app is not mandatory to use the SpeedBox 3.1 tuning module. For example, you can alternatively switch the tuning on and off using the control buttons of your e-bike. So you don't have to take your smartphone with you every time you want to go for a ride on your e-bike.

Advantages of the SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning Module at a glance

- 25 km/h speed limit is lifted.

- Compatible with the SpeedBox app.

- Maximum speed individually adjustable: You can easily set the maximum supported speed yourself using the SpeedBox app. Alternatively, you can also use the control buttons of the e-bike: First switch the mode three levels down and then three levels up. The current speed limit is then displayed. You can now change the maximum speed by briefly pressing the light button or turning the rear wheel 360°. After five seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit is saved.

- Correct values in the e-bike display: Even with activated tuning, the display shows real values, e.g. maximum speed, average speed, range and daily distance.

- The tuning can be switched on and off: activate the tuning module either conveniently via the app, or by pressing the light button or the key combination ↑↓↑↓ on the display (for e-bikes without a classic control panel, you can alternatively press +-+-). To confirm that the tuning has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted, the display briefly shows 99 km/h. If you want to switch the tuning off again, simply press the light button again. The display will then briefly show 25 km/h - this signals that the tuning has been cancelled and the motor support ends at 25 km/h again.

- The SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning module does not need its own battery.

SpeedBox App

This version ("B.Tuning") of the SpeedBox 3.1 tuning module can be connected to the SpeedBox App via Bluetooth. This is ideal, for example, if you want to monitor your performance precisely. You can, for example, view various riding parameters and data on your smartphone, save individual rides and compare them with friends, etc.

Note: All relevant functions of the SpeedBox module can also be controlled without the app (switch tuning on and off / set maximum speed etc.). However, the app is a very practical accessory with which you can considerably expand the range of functions of the SpeedBox tuning module.

Tip: Before ordering a module, first download the SpeedBox app. Get to know the functions and make sure that the app runs correctly on your smartphone.

Installation

The SpeedBox 3.1 is a chip or module that must be connected to the engine (see illustration). This means that you have to gain access to the corresponding connections on the engine. To simplify the installation, coloured plugs are used that have been provided with a key for the correct connection. With a little skill you can install the module yourself, no special technical knowledge is required.

If you want to restore the e-bike to its original state at some point, you can uninstall the chip at any time.

Important notes:

-If you want to install the SpeedBox 3.1 in a brand new Yamaha e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before switching on the tuning module for the first time.

-If you want to update the software of your e-bike, you must first uninstall the SpeedBox from the e-bike. Update the software and then install the SpeedBox again.

SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Yamaha PW-X3, PW-S2 - Compatibility

This tuning module is only compatible with Yamaha PW-X3 & PW-S2 e-bike drive systems.

Not compatible with Yamaha:

PW-SE, PW-X, PW-TE, PW-CE, PW-X2.

If you have one of these non-compatible motors, you will need the "SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Yamaha".

Compatible with the SpeedBox app (smartphone requires Bluetooth 4.0 or higher).
