This tuning module does not only remove the 25 km/h speed limit of your Bafang e-bike, you can even set the maximum speed to an individually desired value.

In contrast to the "normal" SpeedBox, this "B.Tuning" version is also compatible with the practical SpeedBox app. The range of functions of the tuning is thus considerably extended so that you can really get the most out of your Bafang e-bike. Thanks to the app you will benefit from useful additional features (see below).

All important functions of the tuning module can also be used without the SpeedBox app (switching tuning on and off, etc.), so you don't have to take your smartphone with you every time you want to ride your bike.

By the way: Even when the tuning is switched on, the e-bike display continues to show correct data, such as the current speed.

-Maximum speed can be set individually: You can easily set the maximum supported speed via the SpeedBox app. Alternatively, you can also set the maximum speed manually: first switch the mode down three levels and then up three levels again. The display then shows the current speed limit. Now you can set the maximum speed by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or by turning the rear wheel 360°. After 5 seconds of inactivity, the last speed limit displayed is automatically saved.

-Correct speed in the e-bike display: Even when the tuning is activated, the e-bike display shows correct values (current speed, maximum and average speed, range, daily distance, etc.).

-Tuning can be switched on and off: The SpeedBox 3.1 can be conveniently activated / deactivated via the app, or via the control buttons on the e-bike display. To switch on the tuning, you can either press the LIGHT button or the button combination + - + -. The display will then briefly show 99 km/h - this signals that the tuning chip has been switched on and the speed limit has been lifted. Press the LIGHT button again to deactivate the tuning. A short display of 25 km/h then indicates that the tuning module has been switched off and the maximum supported speed ends at 25 km/h again. The e-bike then functions as if no SpeedBox chip was installed.

-The SpeedBox 3.0 Tuning Chip does not require its own battery.

SpeedBox App

This "B.Tuning" version of the SpeedBox 3.0 Tuning Module connects via Bluetooth to the specially developed SpeedBox App. This allows you to monitor your performance precisely. For example, you can display comprehensive riding parameters and data on your smartphone, save individual rides and compare them with friends, etc. The parameters displayed by the SpeedBox app are extremely accurate, as they are read directly from the control unit of the e-bike. But the app has a lot more to offer - see for yourself:

-Tuning control (activate / deactivate tuning).

-Set speed limit or maximum speed

-Display of various parameters, e.g. speed, distance, battery, range, power, energy, torque, etc.

-Save and display ride data

-Hide tuning (the tuning chip can then temporarily no longer be switched on via the bike's control buttons)

-Engine lock (temporarily switch off the engine)

-Engine diagnosis

Note: All relevant functions of the SpeedBox tuning module can also be controlled without the app (switch tuning on and off / set maximum speed etc.). However, the SpeedBox App is a very practical accessory that considerably expands the range of functions of the Tuning Chip.

Installation

SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning is a chip or a module that has to be attached to the connectors at the engine. Thanks to the marked connectors, the installation is simple and can be done by yourself. You can use the illustration below as a guide for the installation.

If necessary, you can easily remove the SpeedBox chip again if you want to restore the original condition of your Bafang e-bike.

Important notes:

-If you install the SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning in a brand new Bafang e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before starting the tuning for the first time.

-If you want to update the software of your Bafang e-bike, you must first uninstall the SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning chip from the e-bike. Then update the software and install the SpeedBox again.

SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Bafang M300 / M400 (3-pin plug) - Compatibility

This tuning tool is compatible with the following e-bike drives (with 3-pole pins on the speed sensor):

-Bafang Max Drive M300

-Bafang Max Drive M400

Not compatible with Bafang Max Drive M420.

Not compatible with Bafang Max Drive M500.

Not compatible with displays with UART connectors.

SpeedBox 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 (B.Tuning) modules for Bafang are compatible with motors using the CAN protocol, but not with motors using the UART protocol. The CAN or UART protocol can be distinguished by the shape of the connectors.

Compatible with the SpeedBox app (Bluetooth 4.0 or higher required).
