This efficient tuning tool removes the 25 km/h speed limit of e-bikes with Shimano EP8 motors and electronic Di2 shifting. By eliminating the annoying speed limit, you can finally use the full potential of your bike and ride much faster with full motor support.

Correct speed remains readable

When tuning is active:

Up to a speed of 20 km/h, the speed is displayed normally. If you exceed 20 km/h, the correct speed is displayed via the second digit and the decimal place. This means that a speed of 22.9 km/h would in reality correspond to 29 km/h, and if the display shows (e.g.) 24.1 km/h, you are in reality driving at 41 km/h, etc. This principle has the advantage that the otherwise treacherous speed display always remains in a moderate, realistic range.

The distance kilometres travelled are automatically updated after one minute at standstill. This means that at the end of the tour, the maximum speed as well as the distance and total kilometres are displayed correctly.

Simple installation

The sIMPLEk module has the advantage that it is quite easy to install. Basically, all you have to do is remove the engine cover, disconnect a connector and connect the sIMPLEk module in between. This is easy thanks to precisely fitting connectors. After reattaching the motor cover, only a simple, one-time calibration needs to be performed. The calibration starts automatically at the first start-up: The speedometer will display an increasing speed and as soon as a speed of approx. 10 km/h is displayed, the e-bike must be switched off and directly switched on again. An increasing speed is then displayed again, but now in small steps. Now you only have to switch off at exactly 10 km/h and the calibration is complete. Calibration is necessary so that maximum speed, distance and total kilometres are displayed as accurately as possible.

After installation, the sIMPLEk module is not visible from the outside.

Important note: Before putting the module into operation, please make sure that it is connected to the correct slot, i.e. the speed sensor (the position of the speed sensor is explained in the enclosed operating instructions). This is because the module has a safety module which is triggered when connected to the wrong slot and must then be replaced.

You can test whether it is the speed sensor plug as follows: As soon as the plug is pulled out, the system no longer receives any speedometer signals and when the rear wheel is turned, the speedometer stops at 0.0 km/h. When the connector is plugged in again, the speed display reappears.

Tuning can be switched on and off

After switching on the e-bike, the tuning is initially always deactivated - this means that the e-bike functions normally, with motor support up to 25 km/h. To activate the tuning module, switch on the bike and let it start up completely, then switch it off again immediately. Now you have to wait a short time and switch the bike on again. Now the tuning mode is activated and the speed limit has been lifted, which is confirmed by a 10 km/h display on the speedometer. The tuning remains active until the bike is switched off again.
