MTT SmartChip: Chip for Bosch Smart System (BES3)
The MTT SmartChip is a practical tuning chip to remove the 25 km/h limit on e-bikes with the Bosch Smart System (BES3). In contrast to the MTT SmartSensor ("MTT SmartSensor"), the MTT SmartChip is a convenient module solution that is very compact and easy to install. The module is tiny and, unlike some other modules, fits into even the smallest engine compartment. Once connected, the MTT SmartChip enables you to ride with full motor support, even at speeds well above 25 km/h.
The MTT SmartChip does not require its own battery; the power is supplied by the bike. When tuning is activated, the display will no longer show any real values above a speed of 25 km/h.
Tip: We recommend the use of GPS-enabled additional devices such as your smartphone if you want to display the correct speed while on the road. Suitable mounts for the handlebars are available in our shop.
The MTT solutions for Bosch Smart System motors are the best products for this special drive to date. They generate by far the fewest error messages with the new Bosch motors.
Three different operating modes
You can switch the MTT SmartChip on and off as required. There are three different operating modes to choose from. The desired operating mode is set when the E-Bike is started up by making certain wheel movements during which the spoke magnet is moved along the sensor.
-Tuning permanently activated (factory setting): Speed limit is cancelled, the real speed is only displayed up to 25 km/h.
-Tuning permanently deactivated: The e-bike functions as in its original state (motor support up to 25 km/h, correct speed display).
-Tuning according to switch-on condition: Here you can spontaneously specify when switching on the bike whether the tuning should be activated or not. To activate the tuning, the magnet must be in front of the sensor for at least 4 seconds when the E-Bike is switched on (sensor active), otherwise the tuning remains deactivated.
You even have the option of individually adjusting the maximum supported speed by means of certain wheel movements.
Note: When delivered, the MTT is always in "Tuning permanently activated" mode, with maximum speed assistance.
How it works
After installation, the MTT (with active tuning) will analyse and process the current speed profile and pass on manipulated values. This outwits and cancels the preset 25 km/h speed limit, allowing you to ride much faster with full motor support.
Please note:
As the MTT SmartChip locks out speeds above 25 km/h for the motor firmware when tuning is active, the displayed speed always remains ≤ 25 km/h. This means that the real speed is only displayed up to 25 km/h.
For this reason, the system's total kilometre display will no longer correspond to the real distance travelled.
Installation
For installation, the MTT SmartChip must be mounted in the engine compartment.
To gain access to the plug connections, the plastic cover of the engine (and sometimes also a crank) must be removed briefly.
MTT SmartChip for Bosch Smart System - Compatibility
This tuning module is compatible with e-bikes featuring the "Bosch Smart System" drive system, sometimes also referred to as "Bosch Gen4 2022", "Bosch Gen5" or "BES3" ("Bosch development stage 3"). With this drive system, mid-mounted motors are used.
Important:
-Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve (rim magnet). You need the RimBoost for this.
-Not compatible with Bosch e-bikes with ABS system.
Attention: Please do not carry out any Bosch updates after installing and using a tuning! Compatibility may then no longer be guaranteed!

Shipping costs
The shipping costs for Germany are 3,50 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 180 Euro. For countries within the EU the shipping costs are 9,90 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 300 Euro. We ask you to cover the cost of any return shipment yourself. Please note that customs fees may apply in third countries outside the European Union.
Minimum order value
The minimum order value is 25 Euro. Only from this amount you can use prepayment or PayPal and bank transfer as payment methods.
Maximum order value
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is 1.000 Euro. The maximum order value within the EU is 12.500 Euro.
Payment in advance bank transfer
Please transfer the total amount with your order number to our account which you received in the confirmation email. Please note that bank transfers within Germany can take up to three working days. Transfers from abroad, especially from Austria and Switzerland, usually arrive very quickly. From other countries, transfers can take a little longer on average.
Payment in advance Paypal
At the end of the order process you will be redirected to the page of Paypal. There you can initiate your payment. As soon as the Paypal transaction is completed, the status of your order will change in the store. The goods will then be shipped as soon as possible.
