MBIQ-P for TQ HPR 50

This tuning tool completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit of e-bikes with TQ HPR 50 mid-mounted motors, allowing you to ride much faster with full motor support. This tuning is therefore limited to the absolute essentials; there are no other functions.

The MBIQ-P is a plug-in plug-in solution that requires very little installation space. As the tuning tool has the same connectors as the existing sensor cable, it can simply be inserted between the engine control unit and the sensor (the existing speed sensor can be plugged in directly). For installation, it is necessary to gain access to the plug connections in the engine compartment.

Tuning is activated permanently

As soon as the MBIQ-P is connected and the e-bike is switched on, the tuning is automatically activated (=speed limit cancelled).

This is due to the fact that e-bikes with TQ HPR 50 motors often do not have a display, which would make it impossible to switch the tuning on and off. For this reason, the tuning has been configured so that it is always active ("Always On").

Of course, you can remove the MBIQ-P at any time if you want to restore the e-bike to its original state.

Tip:

If you definitely want to switch the tuning on and off, there is also a solution for this.

With the MBIQ-P, an extra cable loop is routed to the outside, via which experienced users can implement an ON/OFF switchover.

Loop closed (factory setting): "Tuning permanently activated" mode, no speed limit.

Loop open (or cut): "Tuning after switch-on condition" mode. In this case, the tuning is initially deactivated and the motor support only extends up to 25 km/h. However, tuning can be activated individually before each ride by positioning the magnet (on the brake disk) in front of the sensor before switching on the system (e-bike). If the system is switched on in this way and the magnet remains in this position for at least 4 seconds, the tuning is active for this ride.

This image shows an example of the approximate size of the trigger radius of the magnet on the sensor. The magnet must be positioned in this range before the start in order to activate the tuning:

To deactivate the tuning again, it is sufficient to switch off the e-bike once and restart it without the "switch-on condition".

Important note: After connecting the MBIQ-P (tuning active), the E-Bike display will no longer show the correct speed from approx. 22 km/h onwards (the displayed speed will be "frozen"). The total kilometres displayed will also be correspondingly lower.

How it works

The MBIQ-P is a microcontroller-based tuning tool that works on the principle of speed manipulation. It processes the current speed profile and passes on manipulated values, eliminating the 25 km/h limit. Speed halving, as known from some other tuning tools, does not take place.

The MBIQ-P does not require its own battery as it is powered via the sensor path.

Compatibility

This MBIQ-P tuning tool is compatible with e-bikes with TQ-HPR 50 mid-mounted motors.

Note: The TQ HPR50 motor is identical for all e-bike brands. It therefore does not matter whether you have a model with a TQ HPR50 drive from SCOTT, TREK, PINARELLO etc.

The tool is compatible with all standard motor firmwares from the manufacturer.
