Finally there is a tuning module suitable for Yamaha Moro 07 e-bikes with PW-X3 motors and Interface X. The VOLspeed V3 module not only removes the 25 km/h speed limit, but also offers various other optimisation options, e.g. setting a softer stopping when reaching top speed. All in all, the VOLspeed V3 is one of the most interesting and versatile tuning modules for Yamaha e-bikes ever!

Background: With the MORO 07, Yamaha uses a special speed sensor that is installed directly on the wheel hub. The previous VOLspeed V3 tuning module did not fit this sensor, which is why it was necessary to develop a suitable tuning specifically for MORO 07 bikes. This means that the MORO 07 is currently one of the few Yamaha branded e-bikes that can be unlocked at all (August 2024).

The VOLspeed V3 is a tuning module that must be connected to the motor (invisible from the outside). The module settings can be conveniently controlled via the operating buttons on the e-bike, requiring neither a PC nor a smartphone. The module is maintenance-free and does not require its own battery.

VOLspeed V3 for Yamaha MORO 07 – Features

-Removal of the 25 km/h speed limit

-Freely adjustable max speed: The desired maximum speed can be set individually using the arrow buttons on the display in the range 25 - 45 km/h (the last set value is saved). One advantage of this is that even a moderate increase of the max speed (e.g. only to 32 km/h) allows a significantly sportier driving style to be realised without increasing the battery consumption too much.

-After installation, the module is immediately ready for use, no complex set-up is required.

-Dynamic mode: This optional mode allows you to set a softer deceleration behaviour - this means that the motor support no longer stops so abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached (reduced ‘wall effect’).

This results in a much more pleasant driving experience. The dynamic mode is a truly unique feature of the VOLspeed tuning modules!

-After switching on the e-bike, the tuning is always OFF at first. Tuning can then be switched on and off again at any time using the arrow buttons.

-The module's electronics are safely encapsulated in the housing and therefore protected against moisture.

Additional features if a display is available (ANT+ LEV):

-Correct display of current speed and distance travelled.

-Very accurate calculation of remaining range when tuning is active, as other factors are taken into account in addition to the battery charge level, e.g. the selected assistance level, current riding style and battery consumption.

-Correct total mileage of the e-bike, even after removing the VOLspeed V3 tuning module. This is because the kilometres in the motor control unit are tracked by the module.

VOLspeed V3 for Yamaha MORO 07 - Installation

The VOLspeed V3 is a module that simply needs to be connected directly to the plug connections on the engine. To gain access to the plug connections, the left crank (not mandatory) and the left engine cover must be removed briefly. Allen keys are required for installation (2 mm / 8 mm). After installation, the module is not visible from the outside.

As no cables need to be modified or damaged during installation, the module can be removed again at any time to restore the e-bike to its original condition.
