SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Giant (RideControl Go)

This third generation tuning chip removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Giant e-bikes with SyncDrive Pro motor (2022) and RideControl Go. But not only that - this tuning tool even gives you the option to set the maximum speed to an individually desired value! This gives you the possibility to adjust the maximum speed of your e-bike to your individual needs.

Unlike the "normal" SpeedBox 3.1, this special "B.Tuning" version is compatible with the specially developed SpeedBox app, which allows you to benefit from various useful additional options.

Another advantage of this tuning tool is that - even when tuning is active - all values are correctly displayed on the e-bike display (speed, daily distance, range, etc.).

Advantages of the SpeedBox App

The SpeedBox App was specially developed for the SpeedBox B.Tuning module. The connection between smartphone and e-bike is done wirelessly via Bluetooth technology.

Once you have downloaded the app and paired your e-bike with your smartphone, you can view all relevant ride data and parameters on your mobile phone display.

You can save individual rides and optionally compare them with your friends. Thanks to the app, you always have an overview of your performance parameters.

Important note: You can of course also use the SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning Chip without the SpeedBox app. For example, you can activate/deactivate the tuning not only via the app, but also via the control buttons on your e-bike. So you don't have to take your smartphone with you every time you want to go for a ride on your e-bike. However, the app offers you numerous useful additional features.

Our tip: First download the SpeedBox app before you order the SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning Chip. You can then use the demo version to get to know all the practical functions and test whether the app runs correctly on your smartphone. To pair with the e-bike, your mobile phone must have at least Bluetooth 4.0 (or higher).

Operation

After installation, the tuning chip can be conveniently switched on via the SpeedBox app, or alternatively using the control buttons on the e-bike. Simply press the WALK button briefly and the display briefly shows a value of 9.9 km/h - this signals that the tuning has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted.

You can deactivate the tuning at any time by pressing the WALK button again, whereupon the display briefly shows a value of 2.5 as confirmation - this signals that the tuning has been cancelled and the speed has been limited to 25 km/h again. Your Giant e-bike will then function normally again - as if no tuning chip had been installed.

Tip: If you have an e-bike without a WALK button, you can alternatively activate/deactivate the tuning with the key combination + - + -.

Setting the maximum speed

To set the maximum supported speed, you must first switch the mode three levels down and then three levels up. As a result, the display shows the current speed limit.

You can now change the maximum supported speed by briefly pressing the WALK button or by turning the rear wheel 360°. A displayed speed of 1.5 km/h would then correspond to a maximum speed of 15 km/h, a 2.0 km/h display would correspond to 20 km/h, 3.0 km/h would correspond to 30 km/h, and so on.

After 5 seconds of inactivity, the last speed limit displayed is saved.

Installation

The SpeedBox 3.1 is a chip or module that must be connected directly to the engine. Installation is simple as colour-coded plugs are used with a key for correct connection.

-First you have to switch off your e-bike and remove the battery.

-Then you must remove all the necessary parts of the e-bike to gain access to the connectors at the motor.

-Disconnect the connectors on the cable from the motor to the speed sensor and from the motor to the display.

-Connect the SpeedBox to the disconnected connectors.

-Return the e-bike to its original condition.

-Switch on the e-bike and activate the SpeedBox chip by pressing the WALK button.

-That's it - the speed limit of your GIANT e-bike is lifted and you can now ride much faster with full motor support!

You can remove the SpeedBox chip at any time if you want to restore your Giant e-bike to its original condition.

Important note: If you want to install the SpeedBox 3.1 chip in a brand new GIANT e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before switching on the chip for the first time.

The SpeedBox does not require its own battery.
