siMPLEk for Yamaha

An affordable tuning solution for e-bikes with Yamaha motors. With sIMPLEk you can completely remove the speed limit of your Yamaha drive and ride much faster than before with full motor support! Note, however, that sIMPLEk is a kit that you have to assemble yourself before use, with the help of a soldering iron, among other things. So this tuning tool requires a little skill and DIY skills.

When the sIMPLEk tuning is active, the current speed remains readable on the speedometer, but it is displayed via the second digit and the decimal place of the speed display. This means that if your Yamaha display shows a speed of 10.0 km/h, the actual speed will be 0 km/h. If the display shows (for example) 13.5 km/h, the actual speed is actually 35 km/h, etc.

Maximum speed, distance kilometres and total kilometres, on the other hand, are displayed correctly - but these parameters are only adjusted after approx. 1 minute at standstill.

If you have installed sIMPLEk for the first time, a calibration must be carried out once so that the actual speed is displayed.

The sIMPLEk Tuning Tool has a total of 3 operating modes:

- 1:1 mode (e-bike behaves as in original condition).

- Tuning mode (speed limit removed)

- Calibration mode

In the standard configuration, the e-bike always starts with the tuning switched off (1:1 mode).

To switch from one mode to the other, you must switch off the e-bike within 10 seconds after starting in the respective mode. Wait 5 seconds and switch the e-bike on again immediately - then it will automatically switch to the next mode.

Tip: You can bridge a certain connection ("J1") on the PCB when soldering the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool together, so that the tuning mode is always directly activated as soon as you switch on the e-bike (1:1 mode is omitted).

Please note:

As already mentioned, the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool is delivered in the form of a kit, namely in five individual parts (circuit board, microcontroller, capacitor, diode, industrial connector). According to the manufacturer's instructions, the assembly should only be carried out by a competent person, taking into account the applicable standards and regulations.

Of course, it is also possible to carry out the assembly yourself with the help of a soldering iron; the assembly itself is quite simple and should not be a problem for people with a little manual skill. However, we accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any damage or errors that may occur during assembly or soldering.

To install the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool, the engine cover must first be removed. Then several fastening screws must be removed so that the engine can be swung out of the frame and the corresponding plug connections are revealed. Pull the plug of the speed sensor. After that, simply connect sIMPLEk between the Yamaha motor and the speed sensor. After installation, the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool is not visible from the outside.
