The PearTune MSO 3.0 removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch Smart System e-bike drives. This gives you the option to fully exploit the enormous potential of these powerful motors. "MSO" therefore stands for nothing other than "Max Speed Off"!

Please note: This is the "Still On" version of the PearTune MSO 3.0 module - this means that in this case the tuning is always active as soon as you switch on your e-bike. The Still On version is intended for Bosch e-bikes that do not have control buttons to switch the tuning on and off (+ and - buttons). If your Bosch e-bike has the corresponding buttons, please select the Normal version (“PearTune MSO 3.0 for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022”).

You do not need a PC or smartphone to operate the PearTune module.

Correct speed remains readable

If the PearTune Tuning Chip has been activated, your e-bike display will show the correct speed up to 22.9 km/h. At higher values, the actual speed remains readable, albeit via the second digit and the decimal place of the speed display. This means that a displayed speed of 23.4 km/h would in reality correspond to 34 km/h, a display of 24.0 km/h would correspond to 40 km/h etc.

The e-bike display shows all other values correctly.

Installation

The PearTune MSO 3.0 is a module that needs to be installed between the engine and the speed sensor and between the engine and the speedometer or display. To gain access to the required plug connections, you must briefly remove the plastic cover of the motor during installation.

Important: If you want to use the PearTune module on a brand new e-bike, you should first ride the bike for at least 1 km before installing the tuning.

PearTune MSO 3.0 Still On for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022- Compatibility

-Bosch Smart System e-bikes with mid-mounted motors from year 2022 onwards (also referred to as "Bosch BES3").

-Also compatible with Bosch Smart System Gen5 (from 2024 onwards), sometimes also referred to as ‘Bosch CX Gen5’.

-Compatible with all Bosch Smart System displays, even Purion 400 (Bosch Gen5).

-Also compatible with Bosch LED-Remote software version 11.9.3 and firmware 11.13.0. Also compatible with firmware 12.13.0 / 13.13.1. Older software variants are also compatible.

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with magnet on the valve!

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system!

Also compatible with the latest Bosch software upgrades (as of July 2022). However, PearTune advises against further Bosch software updates, as the tuning module may then no longer function properly.

Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve (rim magnet). These sensors are installed deep in the motor and cannot be optimised by modules.

Our tip: The PearTune MSO 3.0 tuning module is limited in its range of functions to the absolute essentials - the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit. However, this module is also available in an MSO 4.0 version (“PearTune MSO 4.0 V2 for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022”), which has a much wider range of functions. For example, the maximum supported speed can be set to an individual value; or one can set an individual activation code. Particularly original is the chip lock function, with which the tuning can be made "invisible" to third parties for a short time.

Tip: Bosch Smart System e-bikes (BES3) can be easily recognised by the charging cable plug, among other things.

If your Bosch e-bike charging cable has a square plug (as shown above), you have selected the correct tuning module (provided the bike does not have ABS or a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either connector, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike or an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).
