MBTQ E-Bike Tuning for TQ HPR 120S & Haibike Flyon mid-mounted motors

The TQ HPR 120S motors, which are used for example in the Haibike Flyon series, are without doubt among the most powerful e-bike drives ever. However, the enormous power of these motors is limited by the preset speed limit. This is eliminated by the MBTQ Tuning Tool, so that you can finally make full use of the enormous potential of the drives. You can then ride much faster than before with full motor support!

The MBTQ for TQ HPR 120S / Haibike Flyon is a practical plug-in solution that has to be integrated into the existing speed sensor cable. The tool is equipped with suitable connectors for this purpose.

The MBTQ works microcontroller-based and removes the 25 km/h speed limit completely. This is made possible by the fact that the tool analyses the current speed profile after installation, processes it and, if tuning is activated, outputs manipulated values (speeds above 25 km/h are blocked for the engine firmware). This tricks and removes the preset speed limit.

Please note:

Due to the special mode of operation of the MBQT, the e-bike display will only show the correct speed up to a speed of approx. 23 km/h when the tuning is active. At higher speeds, the displayed speed will always remain below 25 km/h - even if you ride much faster in reality.

Our tip: Use GPS-capable additional devices such as smartphones or bicycle computers to display the correct speed while riding.

By the way, the evaluation of the engine software is not influenced by the manipulated values (however, the total mileage may show slightly lower km than actually driven due to the manipulated speed display).

Tuning can be switched on and off

A compact push-button (including its own cable) is included in the scope of delivery, with which you can switch the tuning on and off as required at the touch of a button.

Connecting the push-button is optional - this means that the button is not absolutely necessary to use the MBTQ tuning tool. If you do not connect the button, the tuning is automatically active as soon as you switch on the e-bike (= speed limit lifted).

You can also use the button to programme the behaviour of the tuning at system start ("Tuning at start off" or "Tuning at start on").

The MBTQ is 100% maintenance-free and does not require a separate power supply or battery.

Installation

The MBTQ must be integrated into the line of the existing speed sensor, which is done via the connectors in the engine compartment. For this purpose, the MBTQ is provided with two matching connectors - 1 x for the motor & 1 x for the sensor. In addition, there is a separate, optional push button connector. Please note that the push button cable may need to be routed through the frame.

If necessary, the MBTQ can be removed and the tuning reversed.

MBTQ for TQ HPR 120S / Haibike Flyon - Compatibility

This tuning tool is compatible with e-bikes with TQ HPR 120S mid-mounted motors in combination with the impulse disc (see picture). It is therefore compatible with E-Bikes from the Haibike Flyon series (XDURO, NDURO, ALLMTN, ALLTRAIL, ADVENTR,...).

The product is not compatible with M1 Spitzing TQ motors and other e-bikes with simple spoke magnets.

The tool is compatible with all currently available motor firmwares ("anti-tuning-ready"). Tested up to FW V1.5.137.
