The SpeedBox 3.0 doesn't just lift the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch e-bikes - you even have the option of setting the maximum speed to an individual value. This tuning chip is not only compatible with Bosch Active, Performance and CX-Line motors, but also with the new Bosch 2020 drives incl. anti-tuning software. The tool gives you the possibility to use the full power of your motor. The SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning is compatible with the SpeedBox app, which allows you to benefit from numerous attractive additional functions. You can also monitor and save all the parameters of your ride on the mobile phone display.

Another advantage of the SpeedBox 3.0 is that even when the tuning is active, the correct data is shown on the e-bike display (current speed, etc.). In addition, the tuning can be switched on or off at any time - either via the app or with the Walk button. After pressing the WALK button, the display briefly shows 9.9 km/h (6.2 mph) - this signals that the tuning has been switched on. The 25 km/h speed limit is now lifted. If you press the WALK button again, the tuning is deactivated and the value 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) is briefly displayed as confirmation. Now the e-bike works as it did in its original state and the motor assistance only reaches up to 25 km/h, as usual.

For owners of Bosch e-bikes without the WALK button, there is also the option of switching the SpeedBox on and off using the key combination -+-+.

Set the maximum speed yourself

Setting the maximum speed is easy: first enter the following code using the control buttons: Turbo - EMTB - Tour - Eco - Tour - EMTB - Turbo. The current speed limit is then displayed. Now you have the option of changing the maximum speed - either by briefly pressing the WALK button or by turning the rear wheel 360°. A displayed value of 1.5 km/h would then correspond to a maximum speed of 15 km/h, a value of 2.0 km/h would correspond to 20 km/h, 9.9 km/h would correspond to unlimited speed, and so on. After 5 seconds of inactivity, the last setting is saved. That's it - the maximum supported speed has been memorised and you can start!

Please note: If you use the SpeedBox 3.0 with Bosch e-bike motors of the 4th generation (year 2020 or later), you must leave the e-bike switched on after the end of the ride until a value of 0.0 km/h appears in the display. During this process, the remaining time is displayed in minutes. After that, you can safely switch off your e-bike and look forward to your next trip.

SpeedBox app

The free SpeedBox app was specially developed for SpeedBox B. Tuning Tools. The connection between the smartphone and the tuning chip is made via Bluetooth. Using the practical app, you can display numerous useful data and trip parameters. You can also save routes you have ridden and share them with friends.

Here are the most important functions of the app at a glance:

-Tuning control: Switch tuning on or off.

-"Invisible mode": In this mode, the tuning can no longer be activated via the WALK button, but only via the app.

-Block motor: You can temporarily switch off the motor of your e-bike via app to protect the bike from unauthorised access.

-Save trip data: Save trip data to monitor your performance. The data can also be shared with friends.

-View technical data on your smartphone, such as: Current speed, average and maximum speed, distance, ride time, total distance, cadence, battery level, range, torque & energy consumption (of rider and motor) etc.

-Access to the app is secured by an individually definable PIN and a personal password.

Important note: The SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning Chip can also be used without the app. With the app, however, you benefit from numerous interesting additional functions, such as the option to keep a close eye on your performance at all times. Since the SpeedBox app obtains the data directly from the control unit of the e-bike, the data is also much more accurate than with many conventional sports apps.

Installation

Thanks to colour-coded connectors, installing the SpeedBox 3.0 Tuning Chip is quite easy. Basically, you only need to gain access to the engine and then disconnect the connectors on the cable from the engine to the speed sensor and from the engine to the display. Then you have to connect the SpeedBox to the disconnected connectors. If necessary, the tuning tool can be removed at any time to restore the e-bike to its original condition.

Note: If you are using the SpeedBox on a brand new e-bike, you should ride the bike for at least 10 km before using the Tuning Chip for the first time.

Notes:

-If you use the SpeedBox 3.0 with 4th generation Bosch motors (from model year 2020), you must leave the e-bike switched on after the end of the ride until the display shows a constant speed of 0.0 km/h. This prevents detection by the Bosch anti-tuning software.

-If you install the chip in a brand new e-bike, you must first ride 10 kilometres before starting the chip for the first time.

The SpeedBox 3 is also compatible with Bosch Gen2 to Gen4 e-bikes equipped with Bosch "Anti-Tuning Software".

-Compatible with the SpeedBox app.

-Not compatible with Bosch Classic Line.

-NOT compatible with Bosch Smart System / BES3 e-bikes (almost all Bosch e-bikes from 2022/23 onwards are equipped with the Smart System drive).

You can recognise Bosch Smart System e-bikes by the following features:

- The e-bike is equipped with Kiox 300, Intuvia 100 or Purion 200 displays.
- The e-bike is equipped with the LED Remote, Mini Remote or System Controller control units.
- The e-bike is compatible with the Bosch eBike Flow app.
