SpeedBox 2.0 - Tuning Tool for E-Bikes with Yamaha PW (Powerdrive) with LED / LCD Display (not PW-X)

The SpeedBox 2.0 is an innovative, processor-controlled tuning module for e-bikes with Yamaha PW Powerdrive Unit drive system. In contrast to the previous model ("Speed Box for Yamaha"), when using the new version, the "SpeedBox 2.0", the real speed is always shown in the Yamaha display - even when the tuning tool is switched on. This also applies to other parameters such as range, average and maximum speed and daily distance.

Attention: Please note that Yamaha PW and Yamaha PW-X are two different motors. If you need a SpeedBox for Yamaha PW-X, please look for a compatible tuning tool in our shop.

The SpeedBox 2.0 module can be conveniently switched on at any time using the light button of the Yamaha drive. Once this is done, the annoying 25 km/h speed limit is removed (to confirm that the tuning has been activated, the display briefly shows 5.0 km/h). To deactivate the tuning, simply press the light button again. Now the Speed Box 2.0 is deactivated and the motor support ends as normal at 25 km/h (to confirm that the module has been deactivated, the display now briefly shows 2.5 km/h).

Note: If you switch on the SpeedBox 2.0 but want to ride without lights, you can also activate (or deactivate) the tuning tool by pressing the following key combination within 2 seconds: UP-DOWN-UP-DOWN.

The SpeedBox 2.0 can be installed by yourself. The connection is made via the original connection plugs. Thanks to the form-fit connection plugs, it is not possible to accidentally connect them incorrectly. No diagnostics are necessary during the installation process.

Only high-quality electrical components from renowned manufacturers are used in the production of the SpeedBox 2.0, and the microcomputer it contains has even been certified for the automotive industry.

Speed Box 2.0 - Installation instructions for Yamaha e-bikes

-First remove the battery from your e-bike.

-Now you have to loosen the 6 screws at the plastic motor cover.

-Loosen the screw that holds the motor in the lowest position only slightly - do not pull it out!

-Then loosen the 2 screws that hold the motor in the upper position and pull them out completely.

-Lower the motor.

-Then disconnect the speed sensor connector and the display connector.

-Connect the SpeedBox 2.0 to the just disconnected connectors.

-Place the SpeedBox 2.0 in the frame tube.

-Then fold the motor back up towards the frame.

-Screw in the 3 screws that hold the motor and tighten them - preferably with a torque spanner that has been set according to the information on the screw disc.

-Now you can close the plastic cover of the motor. Tighten the 6 screws.

-Replace the battery.

-Done - now you can start to ride without limits!

Speed Box 2.0 - Operating instructions for Yamaha e-bikes

-Switch on your e-bike in the usual way.

-When you switch on the e-bike, the SpeedBox 2.0 is always off (deactivated).

You can switch on the SpeedBox 2.0 tuning tool at any time by pressing the light button on the handlebar of your e-bike.

-When you press the light button for the first time, the speed indication 5.0 km/h appears briefly on the e-bike display - this indicates that the SpeedBox has been activated. The speed limit is now lifted.

-To switch the Speed Box 2.0 off again, simply press the light button again. Now the display briefly shows a speed of 2.5 km/h - this indicates that the SpeedBox has been deactivated. The motor support now ends again, as usual, at 25 km/h.
