Note: This SpeedBox Tuning Chip "+E-Tube Port" is intended for Shimano E-Series e-bikes without a free E-Tube port (i.e. Shimano motors where all E-Tube ports are occupied) - these are usually e-bikes with one of these components:

-Satellite System ON/OFF switch integrated in the frame (EW-SW100, EW-SW300)

-Di2 derailleur

-E5000 motor

This tuning tool combines the proven SpeedBox 1.2 chip with the practical SpeedBox App

In contrast to the normal SpeedBox 1.2, this "B.Tuning" version has the enormous advantage that it is also compatible with the specially developed SpeedBox App. This considerably expands the range of functions of the tuning chip - e.g. the 25 km/h speed limit is not simply lifted, you can even set the maximum speed to an individually desired value via the app. The app has many more great features to offer, e.g. the tuning can be hidden if required (see below),

The connection between the SpeedBox chip and the smartphone is wireless via Bluetooth.

Important note: When the Tuning Chip is switched on, the e-bike display will only show correct values up to approx. 23 km/h. But: With this "B.Tuning" variant, you can also conveniently have the real values displayed on the smartphone display at higher speeds. We therefore recommend attaching your smartphone directly to the handlebars so that you can always keep an eye on it while riding. You can find suitable mounts in our shop.

Tip: Before ordering, first download the SpeedBox app and try out the demo version. This way you can get to know the functions and check whether the app really runs on your smartphone. To connect to the SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning module, the mobile phone must be equipped with Bluetooth version 4.0 or higher.

Tuning can be activated / deactivated

After installing the SpeedBox 1.2 chip, you can control the tuning via the light button on your e-bike or via the app.

If you switch on the light via the control button on the e-bike, the tuning is deactivated. If you switch the light off again, the tuning is activated (speed limit removed).

With this "B.Tuning" variant, you also have the option of using the tuning independently of the lighting. To do this, activate the "double-click tuning control" via the app (only for displays that have a LIGHT button - E5003, E5000, E6010, E6100). The tuning can then be switched on and off via a double-click on the Light button.

Compared to the old SpeedBox for Shimano, the SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning variant comes with a new design, complete with new hardware and firmware as well as Bluetooth technology.

Installation

The SpeedBox 1.2 is a module or chip that must be connected to the engine. To ensure the easiest possible installation, original connectors were used in the production of the SpeedBox chip. To connect the SpeedBox chip, the plastic cover of the engine must be removed for a short time.

The SpeedBox 1.2 chip can be removed again without any problems if you want to restore the e-bike to its original condition.

Important note: If you install the SpeedBox chip in a brand new e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before activating the tuning for the first time.
