This tuning module removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Shimano Steps engines, so that you can ride much faster with full motor support. This means that thanks to sIMPLEk, you can finally fully enjoy the enormous potential of these drives systems.

Current speed remains readable

Up to a speed of 20 km/h, the e-bike display continues to show the correct speed. Above 20 km/h, the real speed is shown via the second digit and the decimal place of the speed display. This means, for example, that if your display shows a speed of 23.4 km/h, the real speed is 34 km/h, if the display shows a speed of 24.5 km/h, you are actually riding at 45 km/h, etc. This has the advantage that the readable speed on the display always remains within a realistic range.

Despite tuning, the maximum speed and the distance displayed (distance travelled / total distance) are still shown correctly; however, these values are only adjusted after approx. 1 minute at standstill.

Note: As this sIMPLEk module is the "Pro" version, the module is supplied as a finished product - you do not need to assemble it yourself before installation, as was the case with the "normal" sIMPLEk tools.

Simple installation

An immense advantage of the sIMPLEk Pro module is its simple installation - in principle, all you have to do is remove the motor cover, pull out a plug and connect the module in between. This is done by means of precisely fitting plug connections. Then you only have to screw the motor cover back on and carry out a one-time calibration (starts automatically). During the one-time calibration, an increasing speed is displayed in the speedometer. As soon as a speed of approx. 10 km/h is displayed, you must switch the bike off again and switch it on again. Now the speedometer shows a speed that increases in small steps. Now you only have to switch off at exactly 10 km/h and the calibration is complete.

Once installed, the sIMPLEk Pro module is not visible from the outside.

In the standard configuration, the e-bike is always started with the tuning module deactivated (i.e. the motor support stops at 25 km/h, as usual). To activate the tuning, you must switch the e-bike off again within 5 seconds of starting it, and then switch it on again immediately. Now a 10 km/h speed indicator signals that the tuning module has been activated. In this case, the speed limit of the e-bike is lifted.

If you do not activate the tuning after switching on the bike, the e-bike will function as it did in its original state.

Important note: Before putting the module into operation, please make sure that it is connected to the correct slot, i.e. the speed sensor (the position of the speed sensor is explained in the enclosed operating instructions). This is because the module has a safety module which is triggered when connected to the wrong slot and must then be replaced.

You can test whether it is the speed sensor plug as follows: As soon as the plug is pulled out, the system no longer receives any speedometer signals and when the rear wheel is turned, the speedometer stops at 0.0 km/h. When the connector is plugged in again, the speed display reappears.
