With the GPS-based BikeTrax system, you can see at any time via an app where your precious Shimano e-bike is or whether it is being moved without authorisation. In case of theft, the vehicle can be located and recovered - with this innovative anti-theft device, you don't give thieves a chance!

How it works

The functional principle of the PowUnity BikeTrax system is as simple as it is ingenious:

The system consists of a compact GPS tracker with integrated SIM card and a free smartphone app (iOS & Android). The GPS tracker is installed invisibly in the motor housing and connected to the European data network via the SIM card (the GPS data is transmitted via GPRS and GSM). All you have to do is connect the tracker between the motor and the battery.

Download the free Powunity GPS app and register. Then you only need to pair your e-bike with your smartphone. After that, the mobile phone app shows you where the e-bike is or whether it is being moved - in real time and with an accuracy of 5 metres. If the vehicle is moved without authorisation, you will immediately receive a message on your mobile phone. You can view the routes you have travelled at any time.

With this gadget, you can locate your Shimano e-bike at any time, even when it is in motion. This feature is useful in many ways - not only in case of theft, but also if you have left your e-bike somewhere and can't find it again.

Note: The BikeTrax GPS tracker transmits within all EU countries, but also in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The GPS tracker is powered by the e-bike battery. If a thief removes the battery or switches off the e-bike, the tracker continues to be supplied with power via an integrated 1,000 mAh additional battery. The additional battery has a runtime of 3 weeks in stand-by mode (= e-bike is not moved) or around 14 hours with active tracking (= e-bike is moved). When the bike is switched on, the additional battery is immediately recharged (the charging time is approx. 1.5 hours to go from 0 to 100%).

Costs for data transfer

In the first year, the costs for data transfer are completely covered by Powunity.

From the second year, costs of 3.95 euros per month will be incurred. Your advantage: There is no contract obligation and you can conveniently activate the service on a monthly basis via the app - e.g. if you only want to use the e-bike in the summer months. Payment is made directly via the smartphone app.

Route diary

With the route diary, BikeTrax has another practical additional function. Your ridden routes, including distance, route, average and maximum speed, are saved there on a daily basis. Since your user profile (i.e. username and password) can be used on as many smartphones as you like, you can give relatives or friends the opportunity to see where you are currently riding or, in the event of theft, to react.

In addition, the recording of routes allows detailed route management for vehicle fleet operators.

Brand new: e-bike profile & theft report:

As part of a major update in spring 2020, the PowUnity app was enriched with some very practical features. You now have the option of creating your own e-bike profile within the app. Here you can enter all relevant data about your personal bike (including purchase details and bike-related data such as type and frame number) - one of the advantages of this is that you don't have to painstakingly collect this police-relevant information in the event of theft. In the event of a theft, the data can be immediately forwarded to the police by printout or as a pdf file. In addition to the above-mentioned data, the location where the bike was stolen as well as its current position is also indicated. If the police are able to recover the e-bike with the help of the transmitted data, you can also clearly prove that the recovered bike is actually your own vehicle thanks to the logbook.

Another new feature is the option to delete entire routes or specific route sections in the app. The PowUnity Biketrax system's range of functions is now more comprehensive than ever before.
