sIMPLEk Stick for Brose - The first tuning dongle with correct speed indication

The sIMPLEk Stick removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Brose e-bike motors completely. By the way, it is the first tuning dongle ever with which the correct speed is still shown on the e-bike display - even when the tuning is switched on.

It should be mentioned that the sIMPLEk stick is delivered in the form of a kit that you have to assemble yourself first. Since the kit consists of only 4 elements, this is quite easy. You should note, however, that a soldering iron must be used to connect the USB stick and the circuit board. Once the wiring is in place, you can switch the tuning on or off at any time by inserting or removing the sIMPLEk stick.

As already mentioned, with this tuning dongle the correct speed remains readable in the display. Up to a speed of 10 km/h the speed is indicated 1:1. Above a speed of 10 km/h, it is indicated by the second digit and (if available on the display) the decimal place.

Examples of displays with decimal places:

5 km/h = 5 km/h in reality

10.5 km/h = 5 km/h in reality

13.5 km/h = 35 km/h in reality

Examples for displays without decimal place:

5 km/h = 5 km/h in reality

11 km/h = 11-20 km/h in reality

12 km/h = 20-30 km/h in reality

13 km/h = 30-40 km/h in reality

Maximum speed and distance travelled (total distance) are indicated correctly, but only after a little over 1 minute at standstill.

Note: In order to be able to read the real speed for each wheel circumference in tuning mode, a calibration must be carried out once when using the stick for the first time.

There are 2 operating modes for the sIMPLEk stick:

The sIMPLEk Stick is a quality product made in Germany.

Please note:

As mentioned before, the sIMPLEk stick comes in the form of a kit that you have to assemble yourself. However, there are only 4 components, namely the circuit board, USB connector, housing and connecting cable. The assembly itself is quite simple. This is mainly due to the fact that the board is already equipped with the necessary SMD components when delivered. All you have to do is solder the USB connector to the board and insert the whole thing into the supplied housing - and the dongle is assembled.

Then all that remains is to connect the connecting cable of the sIMPLEk stick to the motor and the sensor using an insulation displacement connector. To do this, however, the crank and the motor cover have to be removed. This gives access to the speed sensor cable, which must be cut to connect the individual wires to the insulation displacement connector. The cable ends must then be pushed into the insulation displacement connector with the correct polarity. Press the insulation displacement connector to fix the cables. Once this is done, the USB connection cable must be routed to the desired position of the sIMPLEk stick using the cable ties provided. We recommend attaching it directly to the handlebars so that you can easily plug in or unplug the stick at any time.
