Badass Box 4 for Brose e-bike motors
The latest and so far best version of the proven Badass Box for all e-bikes with Brose mid-mounted motors (only compatible with e-bikes with the sensor shown above left). With the Badass Box 4, the 25 km/h speed limit of your Brose drive can be completely removed in no time at all. You can activate or deactivate the tuning tool at any time by plugging or unplugging the box and moving the spoke magnet. Installation and use are simple.
In contrast to the previous version, there are numerous optimisations in the new Badass Box 4:
- The housing of the box is now much slimmer; there can be no more installation situations that are too tight.
- The O-ring of the previous version has been replaced by a patented snap lock. Thanks to the new snap lock, the Badass Box 4 can now be put on or taken off with just one hand in no time at all. In response to a special customer request, an additional optional fastening device by means of a cable tie on the snap closure has also been provided.
- The previous CR2 battery has been replaced by a AAA battery with a significantly longer range. Thanks to the specially developed "FEET" ("Field Enhancement & Elimination Technology"), the battery only needs to be replaced after 7,000 km or 1 year. Replacement batteries can be bought cheaply on almost every corner.
- For better protection against moisture and mechanical stress, the electronics of the Badass Box 4 are now glued into the housing with a special potting compound from the automotive industry and completely sealed in this way - the Badass Box has never been so robust.
- Double quality control: Each box is tested for correct function before and after casting.

Badass Box 4 for Brose - How it works
As soon as the box is put on and the spoke magnet is moved, the box transmits a modified signal to the motor, which removes the speed limit. The whole thing happens contactless, i.e. without direct electrical connection to the motor, so that possible damage is excluded.
Important note: Due to its function, your e-bike display will no longer show the correct speed when tuning is active (this also applies to values derived from it). Tip: Simply use GPS-based additional devices to determine the real speed (smartphones, bike computers, etc.).
Badass Box 4 for Brose - installation & activation
Since the motor does not have to be opened for installation, the installation of the Badass Box 4 is quite simple. You just have to mount the Badass Box 4 over the Brose speed sensor next to the rear wheel. As soon as the snap lock engages, the box sits securely on the sensor. Optionally, you can also secure the box with a cable tie.#
We recommend replacing the screw of the original spoke magnet with the Toolfree screw supplied. This has the advantage that you will not need any tools to move the magnet in the future. To activate the tuning, not only the box has to be put on, but also the spoke magnet has to be moved a little - towards the edge of the housing in the direction of the snap lock. When the spoke magnet should touch the Badass Box 4, you have to place the spoke magnet as close as possible to the box and turn it by 90° - that's it, your e-bike is tuned and the 25 km/h speed limit has been lifted!
To deactivate the tuning, simply remove the Badass Box 4 again and move the magnet back to its original position. Now your Brose e-bike has its original driving characteristics back and the speedometer shows the correct speed again.

Shipping costs
The shipping costs for Germany are 3,50 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 180 Euro. For countries within the EU the shipping costs are 9,90 Euro. The shipping costs are waived from an order value of 300 Euro. We ask you to cover the cost of any return shipment yourself. Please note that customs fees may apply in third countries outside the European Union.
Minimum order value
The minimum order value is 25 Euro. Only from this amount you can use prepayment or PayPal and bank transfer as payment methods.
Maximum order value
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is 1.000 Euro. The maximum order value within the EU is 12.500 Euro.
Payment in advance bank transfer
Please transfer the total amount with your order number to our account which you received in the confirmation email. Please note that bank transfers within Germany can take up to three working days. Transfers from abroad, especially from Austria and Switzerland, usually arrive very quickly. From other countries, transfers can take a little longer on average.
