The SpeedBox 3.1 tuning module completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Bafang Max Drive M300, M400 and M420 e-bike motors with 4-pole plug-in connection. This allows you to use the full potential of these drives, completely without limits.

As this is the "B-Tuning" version of the SpeedBox 3.1, the module is also compatible with the practical SpeedBox app. This allows you to benefit from numerous useful additional options (see below) that considerably expand the module's range of functions.

There is even the option to set the maximum speed yourself. This can be done conveniently via the app, but alternatively the tuning can also be controlled using the control buttons of the e-bike.

With SpeedBox 3.1, the e-bike displays real data, such as the current speed - regardless if the tuning has been activated or not.

-Maximum speed can be set individually: The maximum supported speed can be set by switching the mode down three levels and then up three levels again. Then the current speed limit is displayed. Now the maximum speed can be set by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or by turning the rear wheel 360°. The last speed limit displayed will be saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.

-Correct values in the e-bike display: Even when tuning is switched on, the e-bike display shows correct values (speed, maximum and average speed, range, daily distance, etc.).

-Tuning can be switched on and off: The SpeedBox 3.1 can be conveniently activated / deactivated using the control buttons at the e-bike display. To switch on tuning, either press the LIGHT button or + - + -. The display then briefly shows 99 km/h - this signals that the tuning module has been switched on and the speed limit has been lifted. Pressing the LIGHT button again deactivates the tuning. A short display of 25 km/h will indicate that the tuning module has been switched off and that the maximum supported speed ends at 25 km/h again. The e-bike then functions again as if no tuning chip had been installed.

-The SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning Chip does not require its own battery.

SpeedBox App

This "B.Tuning" version of the SpeedBox 3.1 Tuning Chip can be connected via Bluetooth to the specially developed SpeedBox App. This allows you to monitor your performance precisely. You can, for example, display extensive riding parameters and data on your smartphone, save individual rides and compare them with friends, etc. By the way, the parameters displayed by the SpeedBox app are extremely accurate, as they come directly from the control unit of the e-bike. But the app's range of functions goes far beyond that:

-Tuning control (activate / deactivate tuning)

-Setting the speed limit (maximum speed)

-Display various parameters, e.g. speed, distance, battery, range, power, energy, torque, etc.

-Save and display ride data

-Hide tuning (the tuning chip can then temporarily no longer be switched on via the bike's control buttons)

-Engine lock (temporarily switch off the engine)

-Engine diagnosis

Note: All relevant functions of the SpeedBox Tuning Chip can also be controlled without the app (switch tuning on and off / set maximum speed etc.). However, the app is a very practical accessory that considerably expands the range of functions of the tuning module.

Installation

SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning is a chip or module that needs to be connected to the engine's plug connections. Thanks to the marked connectors, installation is simple and can be done by yourself. Use the illustrations below as a guide when connecting the module.

You can remove the SpeedBox module at any time if you want to restore your Bafang e-bike to its original condition.

Important notes:

-If you install the SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning in a brand new Bafang e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before activating the tuning for the first time.

-If you want to update the software of your Bafang e-bike, you must first uninstall the SpeedBox from the e-bike. Update the software, then reinstall the SpeedBox.

SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Bafang (4-pin plug) - Compatibility

This tuning tool is compatible with the following e-bike drives (with 4-pole pins on the speed sensor):

-Bafang Max Drive M300

-Bafang Max Drive M400

-Bafang Max Drive M420

Not compatible with Bafang Max Drive M500.

SpeedBox 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 (B.Tuning) modules for Bafang are compatible with motors using the CAN protocol, but not with motors using the UART protocol. The CAN or UART protocol can be distinguished by the shape of the connectors.

Compatible with the SpeedBox app (Bluetooth 4.0 or higher required).
