MBIQ-S Ebike Tuning for Bafang M500 M600 M800 (8pin connector)

This microcontroller-based tuning tool is a ready-to-use sensor solution for unlocking Bafang e-bikes with mid-mounted motors.

To unlock the speed limit, the existing speed sensor must be replaced with the MBIQ-S tuning. Since the MBIQ-S sensor looks very similar to the original sensor, the appearance of the e-bike is not changed.

The tuning can be activated / deactivated by means of certain wheel movements when starting the e-bike (programming). A smartphone or PC is not required to control the tuning.

How it works

The MBIQ-S analyses and processes the existing speed profile and outputs manipulated values. In this way, the 25 km/h limit is lifted so that you can ride much faster with full motor support.

IMPORTANT: Due to this special functional principle, the e-bike display will no longer show correct values from approx. 20 onwards when tuning is active (display will be "frozen"). Also, the total kilometres displayed will then be correspondingly lower.

The MBIQ-S does not need its own power supply and is completely maintenance-free.

Thanks to the highly integrated electronics, MBIQ-S tuning requires very little installation space.

Programmable by the customer

With the MBIQ-S, three operating modes can be activated, allowing the tuning to be switched on and off as required. Programming takes place when the e-bike is switched on by certain wheel movements in which the spoke magnet is guided along the sensor. The set operating mode is indicated by the display of different speed values on the display. You can choose between the following operating modes:

1. Permanent tuning activated (the speed limit is permanently lifted, from approx. 20 km/h the displayed speed is "frozen").

2. Permanent tuning deactivated (the speed limit is not lifted, motor support up to 25 km/h and correct speed display).

3. Tuning activation after switch-on condition: To activate tuning, the magnet must be in front of the sensor for at least 4 seconds during start-up, otherwise tuning is deactivated. This allows you to decide spontaneously when switching on the bike whether the tuning should be active or not.

The operating instructions explain in detail how to set the various operating modes.

Incidentally, the limit value up to which the motor should assist can also be set in a similar way (selection of the maximum assisted speed).

Installation

This tuning tool is a replacement sensor: That means that the existing original sensor of the e-bike must be exchanged with the MBIQ-S. Identical connectors ensure an optimal connection.

The original sensor is located on the rear frame, where it works in conjunction with the magnet attached to the rear wheel. First, this original sensor must be removed. The MBIQ-S cable must then be threaded in the same way as the previously removed sensor. The end of the cable must be plugged into the socket on the motor side.

Tip: When pulling out the original sensor, you should also pull through a suitable pull wire. The pull wire can then be used to thread in the tuning tool.

Note: On some models, the magnet is also positioned at the height of the plug-in axle. If this is the case, you will have to remove the rear wheel to install the tuning tool.

This requires a little technical skill.

Attention: The tool is only compatible with mid-mounted motors - it is NOT compatible with hub motors.

Compatible with all current motor firmwares of the manufacturers.

By the way, the evaluation of the motor software is not affected by the manipulated values.
