MBIQ-P plug-in solution for Bosch e-bikes

This is a microcontroller-based tuning tool in the form of a practical plug-in solution. The MBIQ-P removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch e-bike mid-mounted motors completely. This allows the Bosch drive to develop its full power and you can ride much faster with full motor support. This tuning tool has no other functions.

Due to the use of original connectors, the installation of the MBIQ-P is quite simple. In principle, you just have to plug the sensor connector of the e-bike into the MBIQ-P.

This tuning tool does not require a separate power supply / battery. The evaluation of the motor software is not affected by the manipulated values

How it works

After the MBIQ-P has been plugged in, the tool analyses the current speed profile and transmits manipulated values. Speeds above 25 km/h are blocked for the motor firmware, so that there is no speed limit any more and the full potential of the motor can be used. Please note: Due to this special mode of operation, the displayed speed always remains ≤ 25 km/h when tuning is active). This means, from approx. 22 km/h onwards, the display only shows manipulated values.

Three operating modes:

This tuning tool is programmable: With the MBIQ-P, you have the option of setting three different operating modes by means of certain wheel movements when starting up the e-bike. You do not need any additional devices for this.

-Tuning permanently activated (permanent removal of the speed limit, the displayed speed no longer corresponds to the actual speed from approx. 25 km/h).

-Tuning permanently deactivated (engine support as normal up to 25 km/h, displayed speed corresponds to the real speed).

-Tuning activation after switch-on condition (tuning is always deactivated - but you can easily activate tuning by placing the magnet in front of the sensor for approx. 3-4 seconds during start-up).

Simple installation

Installation of the tool is simple, as the MBIQ-P basically only needs to be inserted between the speed sensor (which works in conjunction with the magnet attached to the rear wheel) and the engine control unit. The tool is extremely compact and requires very little space, so it can easily be placed in the engine compartment.

To install the tuning tool, you need access to the plug end, which is plugged into the engine compartment. To gain access to the engine compartment, it is usually necessary to remove the left crank arm. Depending on the model, special tools may have to be used. Additional plastic covers may also have to be removed to gain access to the plug end.

Once this is done, carefully pull the plug out of the socket in the engine compartment. Insert the plug end of the sensor into the socket provided for this purpose on the MBIQ-P. The plug end that comes out must be inserted into the socket of the engine. The tuning is installed!

The MBIQ-P is compatible with most popular Bosch e-bike mid-mounted motors: Active Line, Active Line Plus, Performance Line, Performance Line CX.

Also compatible with Bosch Gen4 (model year 2021/2021).

This tuning tool is compatible with all common motor firmwares.

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System 2022 (BES3)!
