How the EBT Unlock Key Affects Your Display
When activating the EBT Unlock Key on Bosch Gen2 to Gen4 motors, the display will show half-speed readings instead of the full actual speed. This behavior is a result of how Bosch systems handle tuning interventions and is completely normal. It does not affect the riding experience or the performance of your e-bike. Bosch Gen1 motors, in contrast, display accurate speed data even while tuning is active. Rest assured: the EBT Unlock Key operates without triggering any errors like code 504, and ensures stable, reliable functionality across all compatible systems.
Legal Note
Tuning removes the legal speed limit of 25 km/h. In most countries, your e-bike loses its classification as a pedelec and may not be used on public roads without registration, insurance, and a driving license. Use at your own risk – allowed only on private land or off-road.
