The EBT Unlock Key is a browser-based software solution that lets you remove the 25 km/h speed restriction on your Bosch e-bike – without any apps, dongles or software installation. You only need a PC, USB cable, and your personal unlock code.
What You Need

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Buy your license – Choose 1, 2, or 4 licenses at ebiketuning.com
- Check your email – You'll receive:
- Your personal 25-digit unlock key
- A link to the EBT web tool (URL after purchase) - Connect your e-bike – Use a USB cable to connect your Bosch display (Intuvia, Purion, Kiox, or Nyon) to your PC
- Open the tuning platform – Enter the URL received via email (e.g. www.ebiketuning.com)
- Enter your key – Paste your code, click Unlock and wait for confirmation
- You're done! – Your e-bike is now unlocked and supports speeds beyond 25 km/h
You can re-lock your bike at any time using the same key. The unlock remains active even after replacing the battery or display.

Tip: Check your connector!
To check whether your Bosch e-bike is compatible with the EBT Unlock Key, simply compare the charging connector on your bike. If it uses a plug from Bosch Gen1 or Gen2–Gen4, your e-bike is ready to be unlocked.
Please note: Gen1 with HMI display and Smart System motors are not yet supported.
How the EBT Unlock Key Affects Your Display
When activating the EBT Unlock Key on Bosch Gen2 to Gen4 motors, the display will show half-speed readings instead of the full actual speed. This behavior is a result of how Bosch systems handle tuning interventions and is completely normal. It does not affect the riding experience or the performance of your e-bike. Bosch Gen1 motors, in contrast, display accurate speed data even while tuning is active. Rest assured: the EBT Unlock Key operates without triggering any errors like code 504, and ensures stable, reliable functionality across all compatible systems.
Legal Notice
This software disables the factory speed limitation. Once activated, your e-bike is no longer legally classified as a Pedelec in most countries. Use is only allowed on private property or at your own risk.
