About Fazua

The start-up company Fazua was founded in Munich in 2013 with no less an ambition than to revolutionise the e-bike market in the long term. And Fazua did indeed set completely new trends with the first "Evation" drive: The Fazua drives had the special feature that the motor, electronics and battery were integrated into one compact unit, the "Drivepack". Despite the integration of various elements, the drive unit was extremely compact and also had a very low weight. Thanks to the very slim design and low weight, e-bike manufacturers were able to integrate the system elegantly and easily into the down tube. This made it possible for the first time to produce e-bikes with completely removable drive units. In fact, for the first time it was even possible to create models where - with a flick of the wrist - the drivepack could be clicked into or out of the down tube, turning a bike into a real e-bike (or vice versa) in a matter of seconds.

A good example of an e-road bike equipped with the first Fazua drive would be the "Cube Agree Hybrid C:62". Other well-known manufacturers that have integrated Fazua drives besides Cube are Focus and Bianchi.

Fazua e-bike motors

The Fazua Evation motor for the 2017 model year is unusual in many respects and differs significantly from common e-bike drives from other manufacturers. The main characteristic is that the Evation drive can be easily removed from the frame by means of a click system, so that the e-bike can be turned into a normal bicycle without any pedalling resistance within seconds. This is possible because Fazua has decided to do without a large drive unit at the bottom bracket. Instead, only the gear unit is located at the bottom bracket, which uses sensors to determine the pedalling force of the rider and transmits the motor power to the drive. The motor and battery, on the other hand, are located in a cylindrical extension. This space-saving principle allows the motor and gearbox to be decoupled, so that the e-bike can also be used as an ordinary bicycle. The classic Fazua Evation drive has a rated power of 250 watts (peak: 400 watts), a torque of 60 Nm and a low weight of 3.3 kg.
