About OLI

The Italian company OLI eBike Systems was founded in 2015 as a division of OLI SPA, the market leader in the production of industrial shakers. Thus, the developers of OLI eBike Systems were able to draw on the decades of technical experience and the worldwide distribution network of the well-known parent company.

OLI eBike Systems produces complete e-bike drive systems - i.e. not only motors, but also displays, control units and batteries (external and internal solutions). It is interesting that the mounts of some OLI drives are compatible with the Bosch mount, so that they can be used by the respective e-bike manufacturers without major modifications to the frames (only the OLI SPORT motor comes with an in-house mount).

The OLI drive systems are currently mainly installed by e-bike manufacturers that are particularly well-known in Italy - including brands such as Olympia, Bianchi, Atala or mbm.

OLI E-Bike Motors

OLI manufactures various e-bike drives for different requirements. In each case, they are mid-mounted motors. Especially when accelerating, the OLI motors are supposed to score with a particularly powerful support or with a particularly high torque.

The entry-level model, the OLI MOVE motor, has a maximum torque of 50 Nm and was primarily designed for use on e-city bikes or e-trekking bikes. It has an output of 250 watts (max. 550 W). The MOVE PLUS motor is much sportier and already has 80 Nm. In accordance with legal requirements, the power is also 250 watts, but with a peak of 650 watts. This means that this drive also copes well with inclines. Worth mentioning is the ZERO SUPPORT mode, which provides substantial support even with light pedal pressure.

Even more powerful is the OLI SPORT motor with a torque of 85 Nm and a peak power of 720 watts. Despite this enormous power, this impressive drive weighs just 3.3 kg. Thanks to these outstanding features, the SPORT motor is perfectly suited for use on e-mountain bikes. This drive can definitely keep up with the most compact drives of the leading manufacturers.

In addition to the standard motors, OLI also offers manufacturers the option of producing custom-made motors that are specifically adapted to the respective requirements ("custom made" motors).

Can OLI motors be optimised?

Yes, although OLI e-bikes are certainly not as well known as the mighty competition from Bosch, Brose or Yamaha, there are already some tuning solutions available. Admittedly, there are not yet many tuning tools specifically for OLI e-bikes, but at least there are some!
