The VOLspeed V3 is one of the most interesting and versatile tuning tools for Yamaha PW-X3 e-bike drive systems ever. With this module you can optimise your e-bike in many ways.

The core function is of course the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit. But with this tuning module you have the additional advantage that you can freely set the maximum supported speed to any value between 25 km/h and 45 km/h. This means that you can adjust the maximum speed as required. If necessary, you can also increase the maximum speed only slightly, e.g. from 25 km/h to 34 km/h. You then benefit from a significantly faster riding style, but the battery consumption is still only moderately increased.

Reduced "Wall Effect”

A real special feature of the VOLspeed modules is that you can also set a "softer deceleration behaviour" (dynamic mode). In this case, the motor support does not stop so abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached. This reduces the annoying "wall effect" and you can ride in a much more relaxed way.

The VOLspeed V3 module can be operated comfortably via the control buttons of your e-bike, you do not need a smartphone or PC. Of course, the tuning can be switched on and off at any time.

Both the current speed and the distance covered are shown correctly on the e-bike display, even when tuning is active. The remaining range calculation is very accurate, as a wide range of parameters are taken into account (see below). You can even adjust the wheel circumference to optimise the accuracy of the displayed speed/distance.

In short, the VOLspeed V3 offers an extremely wide range of optimisation options that allow you to get the very best out of your Yamaha PW-X3 e-bike drive.

VOLspeed-V3 for Yamaha-PW-X3 - All advantages at a glance:

-The 25 km/h speed limit is removed (the maximum supported speed is 45 km/h).

-Maximum speed can be freely set to an individual value from 25 km/h to 45 km/h. This is done simply using the arrow keys on the e-bike (the last value set remains saved).

-Tuning can be conveniently switched on and off using the arrow keys (after switching on the e-bike, the tuning is initially always switched off).

-Individual activation code can be set (protects against unauthorised access).

-Setting of a softer deceleration behaviour possible: In the optional "dynamic mode", the motor no longer stops so abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached (reduced "wall effect").

-Correct display of speed, distance covered, average and maximum speed.

-Optimised remaining range calculation: When tuning is active, the calculation takes into account not only the battery charge level and the selected assistance level, but also the current riding style and battery consumption.

-Correct total kilometre value even after removal of the tuning module, as the PearTune module tracks the kilometres in the motor control unit.

-Adjustable wheel circumference (+/- 10%). This allows the accuracy of the speed display and distance measurement to be optimised.

-Automatic initialisation: The VOLspeed V3 module is immediately ready for use after installation.

-Neither smartphone nor PC are required to use the VOLspeed module.

VOLspeed-V3 for Yamaha PW-X3 - Compatibility

This VOLspeed module is only compatible with the Yamaha PW-X3 e-bike drive system from model year 2022 onwards (Haibike).

Not compatible with the Yamaha MORO 07.

Compatible displays: Sideswitch (Display A), Multiswitch (Display C) and Display X.

Compatible with Interface X.

Installation

VOLspeed V3 is a tuning module that must be connected to the e-bike motor. No cables need to be damaged or modified. The module simply needs to be plugged in and is then immediately ready for operation. After installation, the module is not visible from the outside, so the appearance of the e-bike is not changed.

To install the module, a crank and the motor cover must be temporarily removed.

Required tools

Allen key 2.5 mm, 3 mm & 8 mm, possibly ISIS/Octalink crank puller
