sIMPLEk Pro “Stealth Edition” for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 (BES3)

The sIMPLEk Pro for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 was the first tuning module for the new generation of Bosch engines on the market. Due to new connectors on the new Bosch system, a new generation of tuning modules became necessary.

The features of the new sIMPLEK Pro:

-Compatible with the Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 motor and all control units and displays.

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with magnet on the valve!

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system!

-The speed limit of 25 km/h is shifted / removed.

-The actual speed remains readable, maximum speed, distance kilometres and total kilometres are correctly displayed. From 20 km/h onwards, the actual speed is displayed via the second digit and decimal place of the speed display. The maximum speed and the distance indications are adjusted after approx. one minute at standstill.

-Totally simple installation. Exactly fitting connectors. Only one plug has to be pulled out and the sIMPLEk interconnected.

-Not visible from the outside. In the standard configuration, the e-bike always starts with deactivated tuning.

With the sIMPLEk Pro "Stealth Edition" module, a maximum speed of 37.5 Km/h is possible. As a result, the probability of error messages is extremely low. In the normal version, no maximum speed is specified.

The sIMPLEk Pro “Stealth Edition” module is compatible with the Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 (BES3) motor with all display types and control units.

Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve. These sensors are installed deep in the motor. In this case, the tuning module can possibly only be used by unlocking the conventional sensor and relocating the sensor with the spoke magnet. These tips are without guarantee.

With the tuning module, the speed limit of 25 km/h is shifted (max 37.5 km/h). The module must be activated by an activation routine when the e-bike is switched on, otherwise the e-bike always behaves as in its original state.

The actual speed remains readable. Up to 20 km/h, the speed is displayed normally. Above 20 km/h it is displayed via the second digit and the decimal place. As a result, the otherwise treacherous average speed in the display always remains in a realistic range. Examples:

-Displayed 22.9 km/h corresponds to 29 km/h

-Displayed 23.4 km/h corresponds to 34 km/h

-Displayed 23.8 km/h corresponds to 38 km/h

The kilometres travelled are automatically updated after one minute of standstill. Thus, at the end of the tour, the maximum speed, distance and total kilometres are correct.

For this, a one-time simple calibration is necessary, which starts automatically during the first start-up: An increasing speed is displayed on the speedometer. As soon as approx. 10.0 km/h is displayed, the e-bike must be switched off and then switched on again. Now the speedometer again displays a speed that increases in small steps, and the bike must be switched off at exactly 10.0 km/h.

Tip: In order to generate as few error codes as possible in the new Bosch system, the calibration value 10.0 is recommended for the "Stealth Edition". However, this is only necessary if error codes occur at all. The well-known code 504 is not generated by sIMPLEk Pro.

Procedure in brief:

BEFORE the calibration, set the wheel circumference to the standard value (factory settings), then start the calibration and perform it to 10.0.

AFTER calibration, permanently set the wheel circumference to the smallest value possible.

Then the tuning mode also starts with 10.0 km/h and the displayed speed fits.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Due to the stricter tuning detection in the current Bosch firmware versions, it is advisable to reduce the limit for the motor support if tuning is used continuously. However, this has the consequence that the actual speed ridden can no longer be read off in tuning mode without more effort - values have to be subtracted mentally. The real speed remains readable (via the second digit and the decimal place) only if the maximum speed limit has not been reduced. See the following table:
