sIMPLEk for Bosch

The sIMPLEk tuning tool completely removes the factory-integrated speed limit of your Bosch e-bike, so that you can ride much faster than before with full motor support. With this tuning tool, the 25 km/h speed limit of your Bosch drive is finally a thing of the past! Please note that this tuning tool is a kit that has to be assembled by yourself before use, e.g. with the help of a soldering iron.

When tuning is activated, the current speed can still be read, but the actual speed is displayed via the second digit and the decimal place of the speed display. This means that if the Bosch display shows 10.0 km/h, the speed is in fact 0 km/h. If the display shows (e.g.) 14.1 km/h, the actual speed is actually 41 km/h, etc.

Maximum speed, total and distance kilometres, on the other hand, are displayed correctly - but this data is only adjusted after approx. 1 minute at a standstill.

After the first installation of sIMPLEk, a calibration must be carried out once.

There are a total of 3 operating modes for the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool:

- 1:1 mode (e-bike behaves as in original condition).

- Tuning mode (speed limit is removed)

- Calibration mode

To switch from one mode to the other, you must switch off the e-bike in the respective mode within approx. 10 seconds after starting it and start it again. In other words, to activate the tuning, you just have to switch the e-bike on, switch it off and switch it on again within 10 seconds.

Tip: You can bridge a certain connection (J1) on the PCB when soldering the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool together, so that the tuning mode is always directly activated as soon as you switch on the bike.

sIMPLEk for Bosch - Compatibility

- Bosch e-bikes with Classic Line from 2011.

- Bosch e-bikes with Active Line, Active Line Plus, Performance Line, Performance Line CX.

- Bosch Gen4 / model year 2020/2021.

Not compatible with Bosch Smart System 2022 (BES3).

Please note:

As mentioned above, the sIMPLEk Tuning Tool is supplied in kit form, consisting of 5 individual parts (circuit board, microcontroller, capacitor, diode, industrial connector & pin connector). According to the manufacturer's instructions, the assembly should only be carried out by a competent person, taking into account the applicable standards and regulations.

Of course, it is also possible to carry out the assembly yourself with the help of a soldering iron; the assembly itself is relatively simple and should not be a major problem for people with a little manual skill. However, we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any errors or damage that may occur during assembly or soldering.

To install the sIMPLEk, you first have to open the motor cover and remove a pedal crank. Then simply connect sIMPLEk between the speed sensor and the Bosch unit. After installation, sIMPLEk is not visible from the outside.
