Attention: We strongly advise against downloading the new Bosch engine software update 11.13.0, as this can lead to incompatibilities with SpeedBox Tuning. Please note that the warranty for SpeedBox products does not cover malfunctions caused by updating the engine. So please do not install any Bosch updates!

The SpeedBox 1.0 completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch Smart System e-bikes. This means that this tuning chip is compatible with Bosch Gen4 motors of the very latest generation (Bosch Smart System 2022 / BES3). The tool gives you the possibility to use the full power of the drive and to ride much faster with full motor support. You have the option to switch the tuning on and off using the bike's control buttons; even the correct speed remains readable. After completing the countdown, the distance travelled is also displayed correctly.

Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve. These sensors are installed deep in the motor and cannot be optimised by modules. Not compatible with Bosch Smart System e-bikes with ABS system, too.

Attention:

-Please do not carry out any Bosch updates after installing and using a tuning tool. The compatibility may no longer be given afterwards!

-We strongly recommend that you do not drive faster than 35 km/h when tuning is active, otherwise the integrated Bosch anti-tuning software could be triggered ("manipulation detection")!

Real speed remains readable

The SpeedBox 1.0 removes the speed limit of your e-bike. In operation, the e-bike display correctly shows the actual speed up to a speed of 22.2 km/h. After exceeding this value, the actual speed is shown on the last two digits of the display. After exceeding this value, the actual speed is shown on the last two digits of the display.

Examples:

- 22.3 corresponds to a speed of 23 km/h

- 23.1 corresponds to a speed of 31 km/h

Tuning can be switched on and off

The tuning chip can be switched on and off at any time using the control buttons on your e-bike. You can activate the tuning by briefly activating the "WALK Assist" function (keep the "-" button pressed). To confirm this, your e-bike display will briefly show a value of 9.9 km/h - i.e. the tuning has been activated and you can ride at (theoretically) unlimited speed.

To switch off the tuning chip, simply activate the "WALK Assist" function again briefly (by holding down the "-" button). The tuning is then cancelled and the speed limit is reset to 25 km/h. To confirm this, the display briefly shows a value of 2.5 km/h. Your e-bike will then function exactly as it did before the chip was installed.

If you have an e-bike that does not have the WALK assistance function activated, you can also activate/deactivate the tuning by switching between two assistance modes twice, i.e. by pressing the + - + - buttons.

Countdown for the purpose of displaying the correct driving distance

The "countdown" continues to run hidden during the charging process. This means that if you are charging your e-bike with the battery connected, you can ignore the following instructions. If you have to remove the battery from your e-bike to charge it, you must wait until the SpeedBox has completed a "countdown" after the ride. When you stop your e-bike, the running "countdown" process is indicated by the increasing riding time. When the "countdown" is finished, the riding time stops and the e-bike display shows the correct riding distance. The "countdown" can be interrupted by switching off the e-bike or by starting it and does not restrict the use of your e-bike in any way. Nevertheless, you must let the countdown run down regularly to prevent tuning detection.

Installation

The SpeedBox 1.0 is a chip or module that must be connected to the connectors on the engine (to gain access to the connectors, the engine cover must be removed briefly during installation). Since original connectors are used in the manufacture of the SpeedBox, connecting the chip correctly is easy. If you want to restore the e-bike to its original condition at some point, you can remove the SpeedBox chip again at any time.

This tuning set comes with a handy crank puller that you may need when installing the tuning tool.

If the SpeedBox has been newly installed, you must first enter the menu when switching on the e-bike for the first time to check whether the wheel diameter is correct.

Important note: If you want to install the SpeedBox in a brand new e-bike, you should first ride it for at least 1 km before activating the chip for the first time.
